discrimination, steriotyping, and generalising is a sign of not being intelligent? It's true I just found it out. But did anyone else know this?

Anyone else have a similar headache?

"It's not in the bible, so..."
"Tradition, tradition tradition, that's all you Catholics talk about..."
"Look it up in the bible.."
"Site the scripture for that..." (then you do, but they never acknowledge it. they never pick that answer.....double ouch!)

*sighs*

Some christians (blindly) argues that people chooses to be gay, while some christians accept the fact that people are born gay but still think of it as a sin that gays should not act upon.

First of all, people are BORN gay! I'm gay myself, so I know what I'm talking about. If I really had a choice, I would not choose to be gay. Being gay is really hard emotionally, and it brings no reward.

Christians compare thiefs to gays! A thief doesn't just steal for the sake of stealing! They want money, and that's thier motive. But gays don't have any motive to be gay, there's no raward to it. Why can't christians understand common sense?

Now as for christians who accept people are born gay, but don't approve of homosexuality, what do you suggest gays to do? Are gays supposed to marry women despite not being attracted to them? If your son were born gay, would you tell him to stay sexually deprived for his entire life? It's the 21st century, hello!

I was a good little Christian once, it was a comfortable place to be. There was probably no harm in it, I was just annoying to other people, (similar to how I wish I could beat some sense into opinionated Christians these days,) but now I'm out the other side, I'm intrigued; what made you see the light? Was there a single moment that made you jump right back into reality? Realizing your imaginary friend was about as helpful as praying to Eddie Murphy?

I know this question has been asked before, but I'd still like to read more answers.

GOING ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT THERE IS ABSOLUTE NOTHINGNESS AFTER YOU DIE...

Many say that since life is short, you should enjoy it. Fair enough... but you don't take any of your memories with you. If you had a great life with lots of love and happiness, or if you had an awful, miserable life, it makes no difference... once your dead, it is complete nothingness... forever... the quality of your life was irrelevant.

Leaving a positive impact on others? What good does that do? All of the others too will die, also to fade into absolute nothingness.. all of their memories of you or any impact you had, gone, meaningless.

I guess the easy answer is "Don't think about it, you're going to die anyways, might as well just live life for now..." but I'm curious if any of you have actually come to personal terms with this dilemma and have a decent answer for it?

I care for my son in laws mother full time. God has used her to touch my heart in so many ways. Recently I was walking her to the kitchen and in my own tiredness I was pushing her from the back to keep her on track, she stopped in her tracks, and said, " Honey, please go a little slower, my little wings just wont fly that fast.".....I was immediately humbled and asked her and God to forgive my impatience. Later I felt a big smile come over my face, as I thought about Gods sense of humor and the way He helps us to see out own faults. With a hand of love he gives us a moment of laughter when our own abilities are at their lowest. How great God is to speak to us in just the right manner at just the right time!
Please share your story......

Just watched the documentary 'Jesus Camp' and very worried! Those poor children. 25% of the USA citizenry are evangelicals... No wonder Bush is in power. Does anyone know of any peaceful (and not necessarily agnostic) movements involved in counteracting this fundamentalist evangelicism here in the US?

Is Paul greater than God ?????

5,000 years and thousands of Israelite Prophets and one sentence from Paul negated all that ??

Even the Desciples of Jesus followed the Mosaic Law STRICTLY.

Suppose that a sitting Pope was speaking with Infallibility. I'm not sure if Popes are supposed to always be Infallible or not. But for arguments sake lets say that the Pope was excercising this power and speaking with total infallibility. Now, let's say that the Pope said something that was totally contrary to what previous Popes had said when also speaking with Infallibility. What would happen?

Basically, I am asking if a sitting Pope can overturn, undo, or reverse the words of a previous Pope. Could this theoretically happen? And would the new teaching or statement be accepted under the laws and doctrines of the Church?

like a christian, changing into Islam. There may be some related histories on these religions but are quite different in practice and appreciation of God, Jesus, Mary and the Saints, etc. Would your love for another person compensate for your love of God, which should have a higher regard in our heirarchy of values? Would it not be insulting to your God if you do so? Unless you choose to be converted due to enlightenment of sort that is divine in character, but if your main reason is marraige...is it really a good reason to do so?

In every Religion, every beleif, every Religious book, every household, and in Law .... Are Men and Women really Equal?

The Bible says we are all Equal ..
the Bible does NOT say;
1) ONLY women should do Dishes.
2) ONLY Men should Mow the Lawn.
3) only women raise the children.
4) Only men can beat thier wives.
5) Men have many wives, BUT wives only one husband.

Are we really fair/equal? OR do we pretend were equal to make our selves feel better?
