Usually. Its a crime punishable by death. Most murders want to avoid death. They can't take what they give.

There isn't a straight "yes" or "no" answer to this. Most murders are probably murder-suicides, and definitely the majority of murders are committed by people the victims know. In these cases, it's probably very rare for the murderer to hide their crime, so it's likely that most murderers do not hide their crime.
