Well, it didn't shake my faith and I wouldn't do anything blindly. Your question implies that the answer you are looking for is "Gosh! You're right. Why didn't I think of that before? I think I'll become an atheist." What is the point of your question?

The whole Bible doesn't say (to me) what the popular churches, etc. say it does. My faith was getting shaken so regularly by reading the Bible that I realized I was actually going to have to make a choice to drop some of My faith, my humanly designed notions, if I wanted to know God better and be closer to the real Him.

Jesus came to fulfill the Law. He said himself that not one word of the Law has changed. He saved us from our sins, and the punishment we deserved he took upon Himself. Please do not think that the Old Testament is irrelevant to Christians. Why, even Jesus followed the Law.

No, you should study it some more and see why the event happened or why God said it, etc. You might be misunderstanding something or not getting the whole reason behind it.
