Lets take this iraq war for example.
over 100,000 iraqi deaths for the sake of maintaining the american hegemony.

most all christians have supported the war from the beginning.
Sadaam may have not been the nicest guy, but he sure knew how to keep islamic fundamentalist idiocy at bay.

not one world leader sincerely fear(ed) an attack from iraq or north korea, neither country could put the slightest dent in any other country's infrastructure before it was met in kind with unmerciful retaliation from every other nation on this earth.

You can say that this war is to spread democracy all you want, but the truth is that we now see that a large portion of the middle east absolutely WILL NOT have it, at least not when it is pressed upon them by the U.S.

I think that when you are killing tens of thousands of people who just don't know any better, it's is just as applicable to "thou shalt not kill" as abortion might be.

what do you think?

I think they should go and find themselves a gay soul-mate and settle down together. Heterosexual relationships are not a viable option for gays and celibacy is a very extreme option better suited to nuns and priests who don't always handle it very well either, in fact celibacy for religious reasons alone can be a fetish in itself as it places more emphasis on the importance of sexuality than it deserves to be given, though it is an important expression of love and affection we only spend minutes actually engaged in sex any of us, in whatever relationship gay or straight, most of the time we are busy getting on with our everyday lives together and all the other stuff together... that's what loving relationships are about. Don't you agree?

God comes first does he not? But yet we are commanded also to love even our enemies.

What are your thoughts on this dynamic?

I know that the pink rose quartz brings love...:)

Some say that you would have to wash the crystals with salt water and never let anyone touch them. Is this true?

Hee. This is the cutest thing ever. Does anyone out there on the forums believe in her Majesty, the Invisible Pink Unicorn?

http://www.geocities.com/ipu_temple/

"The Invisible Pink Unicorns is a being of great spiritual power. We know
this because she is capable of being invisible and pink at the same time.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorn is based
upon both logic and faith. We have faith that she is pink; we logically
know that she is invisible because we can't see her."

G. A. Wells has put forward this idea, that the early christians believed not in a historical person, but a spiritual being whom they saw as the personification of wisdom.

Because of the lack of historical evidence for the existence of Jesus, and the knowledge that the writings in the gospels describe a life that reflects that of many non-christian figures from much earlier times, is this suggestion more feasible than the idea of Jesus as described in the New Testament?

Why are unbelievers so quick to attack the christian religion? To me there is no harm in believing, but great consequences in not believing.

Many Christian religions believe The Word of God is another being besides God. In fact, some religions believe Gods Holy Spirit is also another being. Therefore, they present The Word of God as a being, and The Holy Spirit as a being. They have three Gods. Is this Biblical?

Others believe that The Holy Spirit is not another God, but The Power of God. They think, in the beginning, only Christ was another being with God. Now you have two Gods, which are God, The Father, and The Word of God. Just how many Gods are there? Let The Bible tell you.

I Timothy 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

I Timothy 2:5 plainly states that there is only one God. Christ, as The Word of God, is just a Mediator between God and humanity. That is what The Bible presents to you.

Since Christ was given The Holy Spirit at birth (the same Holy Spirit made Mary pregnant), The Holy Spirit couldnt be another being because Jesus would then be The Son of The Holy Spirit and not The Son of God, The Father.

My gay lover was telling me about how he was married to a woman for 10 years, and how he had dumped "Ralph" in order to live a "normal life" in the Mormon religion and how it was the worst mistake he ever made, which got me thinking about how gays sometimes dump their lovers for the Western fundie neocon version of nascar Jesus.

He was like, "Sorry, but I want to be normal." He also told me about a friend of his who did the same thing, the difference being that his friend is bisexual, whereas my gay lover is completely gay.

He also showed me some website that was called something like, "Jesus is a trick-stealing *****." It wasn't all that informative, however, but I got the idea.

How many of you have wanted to be accepted by a "tribe" i.e. society, rather than just be yourself?

It seems to be a fairly common assumption in religious circles that atheists are inherently immoral and I have also seen religious fundamentalists regard atheists as literally demonic. In fact atheists are persecuted in the US on this basis, ranging from not being able to get a job to having their homes burned down.

Many atheists subscribe to the scientific view that humans have evolved to be as they are. From this it is very simple to see that had humans not had cooperative traits that we would never have reached humanity. In fact, all decent morality is as a direct result of evolution. We don't need a ridiculous book from the late bronze age to tell us right from wrong.

how do you perceive atheists, their morality or propensity for evil?

I'm curious about the origin of this idea as opposed to a plain old duality of the physical body and the spirit. Why would it be important or necessary to distinguish soul and spirit as two different parts?

I read the artical in my paper twice, because I could not believe what he was saying about ALL Protestants. Don't Catholics miss Pope John Paul? He was a man respected by most Christians, regardless of denomination. I think the words sent the RCC back to the middle ages, and wonder why he chose this time in history to make such an announcement.

-Heaven is where God is.
-According to scripture, God has killed innocent babies, murdered entire cultures, gambled with peoples lives, demanded complete obedience from mankind, exalted child abusers, etc., etc., etc.

Don't you think you should just get sent to prison for 5-10 years, so you can try out the whole Heaven idea, and have some idea what eternity will be like for you when you die?
