What is the harm of believing the next 2000 gods in line? There is no harm believing in all of the different gods, but great consequences in not believing.
So why don't you believe all of them?
---------
Why is it christians love to attack all other religions and non religion? What is it to them they attack all then claim the abused when retaliated? Is it because of superiority complex?
Why when a small occasion when a person asked about buddhism, you see christians goes in to say "Jesus is the only way to salvation and buddha is in hell" or "Buddha is an irresponsible person, believe in Jesus as he is the son of god"?
Why when someone asked about Hinduism you see similar response and even condemn Hinduism as Satan's incarnate?
Why when someone asked about Wiccan you get ..... nevermind, you get the point.

This is a good point, I oppose both rabidly fundamental Christians and Atheists. However, you are now attacking atheism, so you're being kind of hypocritical. I see no harm in not believing. There isn't much harm in believing in God, either, but I'm worried about people who believe the Bible. Not only is it a waste of time, it explicitly opposes homosexuality and modern science, while supporting slavery and torture.
*edit* Christianity is a majority. It is the most visible of all religions here in the US. If we had a large Norse population, we might be fighting over Evolution vs. Norse "Mythology."
Christians are a vocal majority, yet have some visible flaws. In fact, they are probably the most powerful group in the country, if not the world.

Well, you've been conned. Just like the con-man builds up a glowing picture of some great reward that never is visible, versus some "minor" or "small" investment that does indeed consist of real money the con-man gets to make off with, you too have suffered from a con-job.
What's the harm? What's the HARM?! How about you staring down a nice tall glass of Cyanide Kool-Aid in some Christian commune in Guyana because your crazy Christian leader (who started from a mainstream church from the rather ordinary Assemblies of God denomination) wanted to escape to a commune far from "the world" but he killed a U.S. Senator and feared the invasion by worldly soldiers and police who were coming to arrest him.
This is not some extreme case, it is the TYPICAL OUTCOME of Christianity, a mass of stories of invisible skypixies and crushing, unreal expectations. If your own church hasn't had a mass-suicide, it's because they are wishy-washy and not very strong in the Christian faith. Truly dedicated Christians believe the whole thing, literally, and end up going nuts and treating all outsiders as evil civil-servants of Satan, worth getting killed on sight (especially if you're an abortion doctor)...so don't go around saying there is "no harm" to Christianity.

Not all unbelievers are quick to attack Thiests. Sorry, but Thiests are just as bad. What comes around goes around. Believing is why there are so many wars in the history of the world, why people have been oppressed, organized religion has had more of a negative effect on the world than positive imho.

Pascal's Wager. If there is a God do you think he would reward someone who believes in Him just to avoid punishment? If God is a Perfect being, then why would you assume that he is petty and jealous of other deities? People who do not believe in Christianity do not attack the religion as much as they attack the people who endlessly try to convert them. BTW, I am Buddhist. I truly believe in Buddhism and reincarnation. What would be the harm in you believing in reincarnation? If I asked you everyday, would you eventually change your mind or would you begin attacking me? Thank you for the drink though, I was having a dry spell.

Unbelievers??? Non Believers. Pascal's wager all over again.We/I have nothing against anybody believing anything they want. That is not the problem. The problem arises when religion dogmatically involves itself in matters in which religion, at best, is clueless. Things like the age of the earth, evolution, astrophysics, creation etc. Religion has fought and killed innumerable people for not accepting the dogma of the church. This unfortunately is still going on. Religion still dogmatically insists that it has the answer to creation despite overwhelming evidence against such positions. We take exception to that. Otherwise you are free to believe in the Tooth Fairy. I will object however if you try to sell me the belief that the Tooth Fairy will mend your teeth.

Other than the fact that there are no gods and that religions are false ...the harm in believing is that everyone believes differently and believes that they are the only ones in possession of the truth. This leads to dissension, disagreement, argument, accusation, anger, jealousy, disgust, dislike, division, hatred and wars. All from believing in things that are not there.

Faith in Christianity is what caused the Dark Ages in Europe. For 1,000 years, science was scorned and neglected. The plagues decimated the population and one of the most popular ways to try to avoid it was for Christians to march from town to town while flogging themselves.
Faith is one of the most dangerous ideas ever invented. It is a blight on humanity that needs to be erased.

Well, people don't want to go suffering. You know people think of as church for an hour every week as torture when they usually spen like 2-3 hours watching tv. Maybe they don't want to go through everyday talking to God when they talk to a lot of people without even minding them. They don't want to be all humble, they don't want to wait until marriage to have sex, they want to drink, get high, whatever. Actually believing in a religion is much safer because of the above I stated. Oh yeah and it's nonbeliever, not unbeliever.

No harm in believing? Tell that to the millions murdered in the name of religion because their book told them to do it then you can come back to me and tell me there's no harm.
For the record, I only defend myself against some Christians who tell me I'm going to hell because I don't believe in the same thing as they do. I'm not the one starting the fight.
