Dearest Marie,

Many of the psychics make their living in their craft and therefore they must charge for their services or they would be homeless and starving.

Most psychics devote their lives to exercising their gift for the benefit of others. In doing so they must have some way of caring for themselves and their families.

Just because they charge doesn't mean they aren't real... it means they'd like to eat.

Always exercise a bit of caution when dealing with psychics. Take the recommendations of friends and family. If you don't have anyone else to refer from then ask psychics for references or clients you might speak to in order to get a feel for their genuine nature. Of course if you are buying psychic readings from ebay read the feedback.

Those who say psychics who charge money aren't real are just looking for something for nothing.

Some of them certainly seem like it. I have yet to go to one that's been spot on, and usually those will cost you an arm and a leg. Just try not to get suckered into any huge prices, most common price I've seen is around 20 to 25 dollars and then more depending on how popular the psychic is or how good they are.
One thing to keep in mind is readings are typically towards possible outcomes based on how you overcome certain obstacles either happening now or in the future. Anything displayed is a possibility not definite, I like to think of life as a bit more cause and effect.

So even though you might hear you'll get that job, or meet that person, it might only be because you have to do certain things to bring those possibilities into play. In other words, if things don't happen in the end it might not have been that the psychic was wrong but just circumstances in your everyday life have changed, even something small and insignificant can change an outcome drastically.

I think of readings as a tool to sort of point you in the right direction if you’re confused on something, or maybe for you to see things that might not be directly present to you or maybe stuff you're ignoring and really should be addressing. So if you think of it like that, if you want that, then by all means, get a reading.
Also the other rule of thumb is, you’ll be told what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

But yes, if you can find a psychic at a reasonable price, go for it. If anything, they're great motivators!

Psychics are real. There are people out there that can sense things and even give you glimpses into the future. The problem is that the word Psychic has too many negative vibe attached to it and too many expectations. Most people don't know how to use the gifts of a psychic very well. They think they go and get their future told. That's not how it should work. Psychics are there to give us messages that will help us with what we are going through now. Sometimes the Universe at large doesn't think that a situation we think is a big deal is the most important thing going on in our lives.

I once went to Salem Mass with a couple of friends on Halloween. We were going by this Salon of readers and they wanted readings. Now we are all readers, and we are all guys. (a minority I might add) Well the salon was full of women readers so I said it pissed me off and while they did their thing I went and did mine. When I came back there was a male reader at a table that had been empty. I was intruiged. I then noticed that he used the same deck I do. It's not a common deck so I thought it interesting. Then I looked at his name card. Our names were the same.

I believe there are not coincidences so I sign up for 15 minutes. I went to see him and he gave me the message I was meant to hear in 5 minutes. Then he did something that , unfortunately , people force real Psychics to do. He got vague and kept reading. After about 2 minutes I looked at him and told him I read as well and that he had already given me my message. He looked relieved so we talked for the rest of the time.

The point is that yes Psychics are real but more often than not because they have to do a show and dance for people even the real ones get caught up in it because of the fake ones out there. If I pay 30 dollars and I get my message in 12 minutes I am just as happy as if I get it in the 30 minutes which I supposedly pay for.

Don't go to a psychic on the phone. See one in person. Be open and don't be too specific about what you want to know. You will be surprised what will come out of it.

Yes some are real. The answers about whether one should charge money for it...well why not? Even though it's a gift...well it's a gift from God. People who have the gift for singing, should they not charge for what they do? The people who charge because they have the gift of counselling...they shouldn't charge either..I mean where is the limit?
There is a negative vibe to the word psychic.
First, there are rules to follow. If you don't feel comfortable with a certain psychic, then don't go to this person. Don't pay them, etc....but it's a job, therefore, you should be able to charge for what you give and the work you do.

Yes some are real some are fake. Word of mouth is the way to go. To all those who say a real psychic doesnt take cash. How are you expecting them to live? I am real I have an excellent reputation and I get paid for it. Just as a person with a natural aptitude for music, another for sales or whatever. Everyone has to feed dress and live.

I read some of these answers and it disappoints me and frustrates me every time when people think that there should never be a charge for our services......Yes, (I prefer to be called an intuitive or intuitive guide) we are real people who choose to use our energy to give others feedback and guidance. Why would we not charge, when some of us put so much energy into our craft (i.e. booking appointments, going to our offices and setting them (or our homes) up with just the right stones, candles, etc...typing up pages of information for you to take home with you and to look back on, and so on, for your reading...........I do this with any reading not just in person readings. I work very hard on each and every one of my readings and truly care about the client.........those who think we should not get paid for what we do, when we are providing a genuine service, should look at what they do for a living/job/career and ask if they would like to do it free of charge.....we are real and caring people but we do have families just like you do and we do need to pay the rent

Not to be mean, but I presume you're asking about psychics, rather than physics...

By most traditions, those who are supposed to have genuine abilities are not supposed to charge fees for their use.

In general, I'd have my doubts—but this is, I have to point out, more my own opinion that outright fact.

If you go to one of the "professional psychics" with idea that it is a form of entertainment—like going to see a film—then the idea isn't that bad.

Going to one of them with the idea that they really know, in detail, what your future will be—then we're back into "buyer beware" territory.
