The power of cystals...how do we harness the power in them?

I know that the pink rose quartz brings love...:)

Some say that you would have to wash the crystals with salt water and never let anyone touch them. Is this true?

From a physics point of view human beings can be very sensitive to energy. The energy of objects can effect other objects. Crystals have energy levels.

From my point of view crystals are an external focus object that allow people who have not achieved the ability to focus internally a medium for focus.

This focus generally takes the form of the person's emotional energy, but, when people believe something about a particular crystal it can help them focus specific types of emotional energies.

From a Chemistry viewpoint crystals can have a variety of chemical bonds, depending on both the type of crystal and the individual crystal. Diamonds for example have primarily covalent atomic bonds similar to metallic bonds, the "sea of electrons".

To make it really simple crystals have energy levels. Basic Chemistry.

Getting into meta-physical stuff, in my opinion people will either "get along" with a crystal depending on the energy level, their emotional energy state and their personal belief in the crystal. This is why people develop such rituals around crystals.

Crystals do have chemical energy levels, people can be receptive to the energy level and the receptivity will always be based on a persons emotional state and belief system.

I used to have a particularly clear fluorite crystal that one of my ex-girl friends stole from me. It was great for meditation when I was into it. She felt that the power we felt when we meditated together was in the crystal, but, I hear it never worked right for her. I was told it was because she stole it from me and could never get it properly "cleansed".

I still have some cloudy fluorite around somewhere, cloudy fluorite is cheap. I think I paid a buck for five pieces about the diameter of a dime, shaped like an 8 sided diamond. Never use them.

It is not wise to become dependent on a material possession.

No two crystals are alike. You should keep it unique by first getting to know it - examining it closely for its specific features.
Then you can clean it to prepare it for its use&to restore its energies. You can either leave it in cold (running) water for about half an hour, so that any negative energy is washed away, or leave it in a heavy shower outside, if you have a garden. It should be in direct contact with earth.
After either of these two methods, leave it to dry naturally, preferably in the light of the full moon.

When you've cleaned it like this, you can use it to any purpose that you need. For this, you'll have to know the exact healing powers of various crystals. Someone said that amethyst is connected with drinking. It's true, as its name is derived from the Greek word 'amethystos', meaning against drunkenness. So it's thought to induce a sober mind. In Chinese traditional medicine, it's prescribed for stomach pains and bad dreams.

But it's a long story: every stone has a specific energy and a specific healing power. Used properly, it will help its owner to re-balance the body systems so that they work harmoniously.

yes, it is true. Nobody but u must handle ur crystal, becuase others may have bad energy about them. If their bad energy is placed within the crystal, its bad news. only u can use the crystal, unless u are prepared to purify it again.

Also, regular Quartz is good for focusing. It can be used for psychic purposes. Dont know if u knew that, just thought i might tell you.

what you mention about the salt water washing thing would be cleansing them.

this is not the only method, and not letting anyone ever touch them is not always needed.

some people for example, can cleanse stones like that without the "ceremony" of water and salt and whatnot.

there are other methods of doing so as well.

and the not letting others touch them, would simply be to prevent other peoples's energy from "contaminating" the crystal/stone.

other slight details:
clear quartz is a magnifier, Hematite is big on grounding. Amythyst is supposed to have some effects relating to alcohol, I've heard(lol, I don't know how that works really, but I've heard it does) Bloodstone I belive is a healing-related one...

most people have stones that they fit with well, they like the stones and the stones like them.

Hematite is my personal one that really works with me.

it's just a saying only no scientific proof.i've one yellow crystal which i bought in china(quilin) 3 yrs ago.u can't let ppl touch ur crystal otherwise u've to wash it again as the crystal w'd give u luck.
