I think the first thing that you need to ask yourself is what motivates you to want to know? Also if he is, what do you plan on doing about it? The fact that he hasn't had a girlfriend means nothing. A lot of poeple can't get dates in high school. They too awkward and can't relax until they are in a less stressful social environment. Vanity? I have not idea what this is suppossed to mean but what kid doesn't think that they are hot stuff? But i'll make it easy for you and list the 4 definitve signs of homosexuality.
1. If he bathes daily hes gay
2. Af he assorizes i.e. belts, wallets, wrist watches or even an IPod he's so gay.
3. If he walks around with his pants half way down his legs so that everyone can see his a$$ and boxers he is tremendously gay.
4. If he would rather plan vidoe games with his boys instead of seeing his girl -- GAY!
I hope this list helps you determine just how many more gay people you really know!

If you feel that you need to know, and your relationship is strong, then asking should not be counted as the last resort. Although there are stereotypes and "signs" of recognizing the gay male, you should never make assumptions. There is very much the possibility that he could be a straighty just a little on the fem side. After all the Fab 5 have left their mark on this nation, and given birth to many tastefull metro-sexuals.

Let me be revolutionary and suggest something SO very out of the box . . . ask him!
Several of my male friends didn't have girlfriends until they were 21, and they are straight.
If he's into vanity, is it possible that he is just vain? Ever heard of metrosexuals? They're straight!
I would like to know why you need that information. Will that change your relationship at all? If he is, maybe he just doesn't trust you enough to tell you, maybe he's scared of your reaction.
I guess the most trustworthy sign is, he'll be kissing other boys.

I agree with "Why?" You say he hasn't had a girlfriend, but don't mention if he has had a boyfriend. Do you not know? And you apparently know him well enough to know he is a virgin. When the topic came up, why didn't you just ask him? It seems to me that if he wanted you to know, he would have told you, so if he hasn't, you can assume either 1. he is not gay or 2. he doesn't want to tell you.
If he doesn't want to tell you, you might think about why he doesn't want to. Do you think he might feel that you will reject him if he does?
But you have to understand that a lot of straight people remain virgin past the age of 18, and a lot of them are unsure of themselves socially enough that they don't date till they are older.
The most important thing to think about is do you love your cousin for himself the way he is or do you only love him if he meets your expectations of him.

Why? What do you intend to do if he is?
No matter what your reasoning is, it's none of your business. If he is gay, then let him come out on his terms. You have no right to go barging through his life, nor making these assumptions based on what you think an 18 year old male should be like.

Do not listen to: rksu747. because he basically described every single rap artist or rap fan. They aren't all gay, trust me.
Listen to just about everyone else. Ask him.
But the bottom line is: Why?
Are you going to hate him if he is? cuz that sucks?
