I always thought she was...is she?

A friend of mine was in a bad motor cyle wreak a few years back.. He grew up a christian. He was strong in his faith. and It was god that saved him, Even the doctors said it was someone from above that saved him.. But how can he go from christian to atheist.. I would like to hear from all sides.. I seriously want to know why and how this could happen.. Also his family doesnt realise he is like this, they just think that since not all of his injurys are healed still he doesnt want to go to church and show his ''weakness'' as they call it. But I feel bad for keeping this secret from his family.. Even though its not my secret.

follow up to previous question. It takes some explaining up front. I am guessing that there are 1500 employees or so (rough guess) at the LDS Corporate Headquarters. Based on a very conservative salary of $40K per year, this calculates out to be $60 Million dollars per year. This does not include IT budgets, maintenance, etc etc etc that could easily add up to several million more.

The Church does not release financial records, but generally states that tithing money goes towards building temples and churches. They don't mention salaries.

Have you ever thought of this before? Does $60 Million seem high or low? What is your take on this? Does it change your perspective on things?

I once heard a quote similar to this, and I was wondering what people thought, especially non-christians, but everyone is welcome. If everyone who said they were a Christian tried to be the loving moral person they were called to be, wouldn't a lot more people be attracted to Christ?

For those who are Christians, no we will never be perfect, but we need to work against hypocracy first in our own lives and then in our churches.

and why or why not?
Anybody with a vengance as well? and why do you think that they are this way?
Doesn't it upset you alot or do you know how to deal it pretty well?

what do they bother you about and why?

what about also family or family-friend secrets that they know about and they try to hurt you with those, as well?

(I have a rather vindictive sister who will stop at nothing to get at a person in the family.)..not really teasing them, but, more like hurting them..know what I mean? Vengence seems to always be in her blood...even her own mother thought that she had way too much hate as well!

its all to do with triple numbers...first you have 1-1-01..then 2-2-02....then 3-3-03....then 4-4-04...then 5-5-05.....then 6-6-06.....then 7-7-07......then 8-8-08.......then 9-9-09......then 10-10-10.......then 11-11-11.....then finally.....12-12-12....it cannt go any further because there is no 13th month.......so its not the end of the world, just the end of triple dates/numbers

i'm a 22 year old single mom (never been married)

i have not been raised religious however i've been researching and reading about the catholic church for more than a year, and i find it to be the best fit for me.

some of what i've read sounds like the church is very strict. would they accept me (a 22 year old never been married female) and my 8 month old daughter?

also, can they do baptisms without a fathers consent?

i'm more than willing to put in the effort... i gave my life away when i found i was pregnant and started living it for jesus and god. i've been living this lifestyle and it's definatly missing something- the church.

please let me know if i can go with this or if i need to go to a different church. i don't want to look like an idiot when i call.

If you listen closely to the rap lyrics, the rappers talk about livin in poverty and it gets in these young children's mind that they must live in poverty to become the "big dawgs". Also these people rap about being "Thugs" and raping women and using the N-Word. Now Rapping is pushing the Civil Rights stuff back many years except the rappers are in the place where the whites were. I am not being racist but blacks have been committing more and more hate crimes towards whites ever since this type of trash became popular. It tells young children to not get an education and instead rule a gang. What kind of blasphemy is this? Martin Luther King Jr. is rolling in his grave for this along with the other African Americans that fought for African Americans to go to schools and be great people. This is degrading to a proud race. Martin Luther King did not fight for Civil Rights only so African Americans can own gangs and riot in our streets. Its a sad era in the African American history book!

Rap is more of a disgrace than Joel Schumacher's Batman & Robin!!!

Do you think some gay people can be physically attracted enough to the opposite sex to have sex with them, but are not really into them like they are with the same sex? So the sex is just sex and maybe done for acceptance or because they can't find anyone else?

One of my best friends is a lesbian and stopped having sex with men and then called herself only gay. Her interest in men was dropped completely for the past few years. She said the guys had to be perfect to go out with them and that was probably to make up for the fact that she was gay.

A male friend says he is bi, then admitted after meeting a "relationship material" guy that he only has sex with women because he gets less attached to them. He was high most of the time when he had sex w/ his gf. He said he was ashamed of the times he would act straight around straight guys.

Does anyone have a similar experience?

I don't consider myself a gay men or even bi sexual but I've have had sex with another guys i and afterward i was very disturbed about it but not enough to stop i prayed about it i try to stop but it only gets worser i don't like it and really wanna be straight again and just be right i fell like I'm a evil person and god doesn't here me praying " I don't know " I wish there was a pill i could take its like a decease.
