In answer to a religious questions someone actually answered that a nonbeliever can't read the bible and understand it! This person said that the Hebrew god would not allow a nonbeliever to understand the bible! How in the world is a thinking person to reach a decision to become a follower of this religion if the aforementioned statements are true?

I realize my body will become compost but is it possible the energy within me moves on.

Whether or not it has a consciousness is to far down the road to even consider as of yet. But just the transference of energy would cause some interesting reactions in society.

yet some people say "well, we don't know what god meant by "a day"? Why would he say "6 days" if he meant 20,000 years? Why not just say 20,000 years or "a really, really, really, long time"?
It doesn't make sense.

The bible says the Earth was created in 7 days. How did the writers know this if no humans existed then? It says Adam and Eve were the first people. How did they know this? People are going to say it was god. How do you know that god exists? Where is there any proof at all for his exsistence.

I would really like to meet other lesbians who have professional careers. I find it impossible to meet lesbians who aren't drunks, strung out, or who actually have goals for their lives. I've met a very few, but it is extremely rare. Of course I wouldn't mind meeting some that were close to my age and single, but I'm absolutely certain that I'm asking WAY too much when I add that in. I'd just like to make friends with some worthwhile people who share my sexual preference. So.....am I the strange one for having a career and goals?

You’ve had a really bad stroke of luck at the zoo and have fallen into an animal enclosure.
Which of the above animal’s enclosure do you hope you have fallen into, and why?
My 8yr old asked this question at the dinner table and the answers his family gave were really funny, interesting, and very different, so I want to know which animal’s enclosure the majority would choose.

Dad said he'd take his chances with the Rhino
Mom said the Silverback
Son chose the Bear

Germaphobia? I've got a mild case but still I shake an offered hand, wishing I hadn't.
Also, how would you rank the firmness of your handshake?
I've had so many boneless, bloodless "ghost" shakes I can't count them all.

Most gays are liberals due to the fact that liberals support gay rights. However, gay rights is one of many issues. Are you all one-issue voters? It seems to me that gay would support any politician as long as he or she supports gay rights, but you completely disregard all other issues. Well, maybe I should cut to the point. One of those not so common type of gays: a conservative gay. I do support gay rights, but it's one of very few issues that I agree with liberals. On most of other social and fiscal matters I am very conservative. I'm for capital punishment, gun rights, lower taxes, lower welfare spendings, enhanced border security, etc. Are there any gays with conservative views??

Jesus promised the thief today, I promise you will be with me in paradise. The comma is in the wrong place in the bible. Punctuation is not inspired.
Jesus, did not go to Heaven on that day because Jesus told Mary on the morning of the 1st day (Sun-day) not to touch Him because Jesus had not assended to His Father yet.
Either the thief is awaiting the resurrrection at the second coming or Jesus was lying. And God cant lie.
So the theif could not be with Jesus in paradise on the day they were crucified. (Friday)

As reported earlier today, excavations at closed pasta manufacturing plants and landfills have yielded new evidence showing that the FSM is not, infact, angel hair pasta as claimed, but actually an inexpensive form of elbow macaroni.
Radio Carbon testing has also shown that instead of 8 billion years old, the FSM can be no more than 100 years old. Elbow macaroni is known to have appeared suddenly in the pasta record. Although bow-tie pasta was once considered a transitional form between the ancient linguine pasta and elbow, it's been shown to be of a different family entirely. Radical pastafarian cleric Chef Boyardee claims this will have a huge impact on the continued serving of pasta in the public schools. According to Boyardee " Pastafarians world-wide should keep an open mind" concerning these troubling revelations . The Flying Spaghetti Monster, or FSM, has also come under fire recently with accusations being made of his actually being made of "No Yolks" instead of vermicelli.

The human X and Y chromosomes (the two “sex” chromosomes) have been completely sequenced. Thanks to work carried out by labs all across the globe, we know that the X chromosome contains 153 million base pairs, and harbors a total of 1168 genes (see NCBI, 2004). The National Center for Biotechnology Information reports that the Y chromosome—which is much smaller—contains “only” 50 million base pairs, and is estimated to contain a mere 251 genes. Educational institutions such as Baylor University, the Max Planck Institute, the Sanger Institute, Washington University in St. Louis, and others have spent countless hours and millions of research dollars analyzing these unique chromosomes. As the data began to pour in, they allowed scientists to construct gene maps—using actual sequences from the Human Genome Project. And yet, neither the map for the X nor the Y chromosome contains any “gay gene.”

It's sad to me that while looking through people's questions and every time they mention God they are attacked because of their religious views. At the same time when someone makes an atheist comment they are immediately attacked by "Christians" who tell them they are going to hell.
I find it sad that I can't voice my religious views without being verbally abused. I have even been told to "go choke on a Bible" because I asked a question of evangelism. I was in tears because I felt like a bad person for being who I am.
Also I'm embarrassed to see the hateful word's tossed around by people who claim to be Christ followers. I believe that my religion is built on love. I believe that God exists and only he can judge people.
So why is it so hard to respect people who believe things you don't or don't believe things you do?
