God has provided for everyone's NEED but not for anyone's GREED.
Actually the main reason is the illusion that money (or material enjoyment) can make us happy. No matter how much money we acquire our senses have limited capacity to enjoy - we can't enjoy any of our senses beyond a limit. Most of the people today don't understand this and work hard to acquire more and more. But they get frustrated when they are not able to get the enjoyment even after so much of hard work.
People take this stance due to the ignorance. They don't really understand the real purpose of human life and end up just working like animals and getting frustrated again and again in all their efforts to enjoy.
The main purpose of human life is self realization i.e. to ask:
Who am I?
Why I'm here in this world?
Why do I suffer?
Who is God and What is my relation with God?
One can feel immediate relief if one sincerely tries to seek the answers for these questions presented in Bhagavad-Gita As It Is (http://vedabase.net/bg/en).

Let us face the facts squarly.
All over the world, there is enough wealth.
But the main problem is that it does not perculate down to the last man.
Besides there is no equal distribution of wealth all over the world.
Even assuming for argumant sake that every one gets a fair share of wealth, human being's psychology being what it is, there will still be a few wanting more and more and more of wealth.
Attraction to material wealth does not fade away swiftly.
At the same time it is also true that at certain stage in one's life every man is certain to feel that wealth is not every thing in life.
That is the reason most of the westerners are turning towards spiritualism, as wealth does not satisfy their inner soul.
Being not satisfied in the possession of wealth alone, is indeed a good sign.
That is the start of one's spiritual quest leading to greater changes in him eventually.

coz most of the people remain spiritually thirsty. They think that money, wealth will bring a lot of satisfaction n happiness but that happiness is short lived. It soon becomes a burden on them. Some earn all this by their wrong deeds n their happiness is even more short lived. If they want to know the real meaning of happiness, they should find a spiritual Guru who would guide them, but many don't even believe in gurus. Their technology is so advanced that they cant do anything without them. They become less innovative n start living a stereotype n monotonous life. All this adds to the frustration. They involve themselves in cheap thrills but cant come out of it. Simple living n high thinking are a must for a happy life, which seems to be unattainable, where life is thought to be nothing more than a rat race..

Dear Prahlad,
I have starred your question.
You have touched a very beautiful point in your question knowingly or unknowingly.Thank you for giving an opportunity to answer .There will definitely be several answers by scholars here in YA but my humble opinion I submit.
In Hinduism there is fundamentally one thing that should be understood and shall always be recollected and we shall be aware of.That is , it has been said long long back in our scriptures ,by our Rishis Sages and saints and enlightened souls that whatever that HAS A NAME AND FORM WILL PERISH.
It is an eternal truth.
Second the pleasure or comfort (not happiness ) derived by either any of the available forms and wealth is quite transitory and it evaporates. The pleasure will not remain permanently in one.So what ever you purchasewith wealth is giving asome comfort and pleasure. And that which you get will disappear from you again and you crave for it.
In the western countries they have wealth,So they can buy any electrical gadgets to make their daily tasks simple, they can purchase sensual pleasure, they can purchase some things to keep themcomfortable. But after some time they realise that whatever they are getting through their wealth is not permanent happiness and again the Frustration returns in minutes or hours,They geyt instead of happiness, eternal happiness, head ache, hang over, and other diseases some times. So fnally they realise money can never give them peace of mind and eternal happiness.
Thiswas long long back declared by our Rishis,
That is why we see the affluent westerners coming ti India in search of Mental peace and divine happiness.
They are throwing away money towards charities after realisation and seeking the way to happiness.TRhey want to get rid of that misery (Duhkham) in them.
They are confused until light dawns in them and shows the way.
Wealth shall be there. But how much is needed that much is enough. The more it accumulates the more the misery and frustration.
Hope the answer helped you.

The scarcity is in the availability of wealth. Most of the wealth in the west is in the hands of a very few people. That may account for the dissatisfaction.

Because it isn't spread out evenly. Minimum wage is impossible to live on. I live with several other people, and we all work hard at low-paying jobs. We share one very small, cramped apartment, and there are days I don't eat because I can't afford it. We steal toilet paper from public bathrooms because no one can afford to spare the 4$ to buy some, because that would mean giving up 4$ worth of food. My lease is up next month, and I can't find anywhere that I can afford to live, even roach-infested apartments in bad areas of town. I'd hardly call that 'full abundance'.
There may be plenty of wealth to go around, but it isn't going around. Its all staying in one place. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. There are a few very rich people that hold most of the west's wealth. Please be assured that most of the people aren't rolling in cash.
Tina: When did he say ANYTHING about african americans? He simply referred to people in the west. Why did you turn a simple question into a racial issue? Poor people come in every color, not just black.

No, as far as monetary things for African Americans it is not of abundance, You need to know American History to know why that is. Don't believe everything "White America" tells you.
PS
The few Blacks you see that are shown on TV make up about 20% of the wealth in blacks (maybe less) which is not high at all. African Americans are the poorest race in this country because of racism. I'm an educated college student and it was hard for me as well, education is nothing without opportunity. Read a little about. W.E.B. Dubois

Mens health definitely! It's hilarious XD But, when I'm in the mood for actually answering questions and not trolling a section I either go to P&S, baseball, or the history section. I will probably end up going to those more in the future. Most cut throat is definitely R&S. They're hardcore over there =P MQ: My friends playing video games haha... But I have Lamb Of God - "Black Label" playing in my head. MQ2: Anything by Rage Against The Machine! My Confessional- I have a crush on a R&Per... Some of you know who it is.

This is mainly because of our belief system. The rich think that they have the right to hoard all the resources that they acquired through their own effort and the poor think that they are limited or born poor and have no chance or opportunity to grow.
All this could end if we change our belief system instead of you and I are separated from each other to "We are all one and there is enough for everyone." When those who have more will start sharing to those who have less. There will be no need to struggle anymore with the basic necessities of life such as food, clothing and shelter. No one will be burdened with the struggle just to survive. Then, earth will become heaven on earth. Instead, of Americans, Chinese, Muslim, Indian, African, Arabs, etc. etc. we will just be called earthians!

Just because there is not a scarcity of something in a society doesn't mean that everyone in that society is rich, full, driving, or screwing. Everything is not available in full abundance for everyone.
