Your question implies that homosexual actions are being singled out. In Catholicism, ALL sex outside of marriage is prohibited, regardless of whether the acts are opposite-sex, same-sex, masturbation, bestiality, etc.

Catholics do not condemn homosexuals.
Created in the image of the one God and equally endowed with rational souls, all men have the same nature and the same origin. Redeemed by the sacrifice of Christ, all are called to participate in the same divine beatitude: all therefore enjoy an equal dignity.
The Catholic Church believes there is nothing sinful about being homosexual. But homosexuals like all unmarried people are called to celibacy.
The Church specifically says that homosexuals "must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided."
Here is the text of the document, On the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons (1986): http://www.newadvent.org/library/docs_df86ho.htm
With love in Christ.

First, homosexuality is condemmed in the scriptures of all three of the world's major monotheistic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam).
Second, considering how many male Roman Cathoic priest and religious are homosexual (from my own personal experience of having been in a religious order for several years...oh, the stories I could tell!), I have always been amazed that they condemn such. This might be called hypocracy.
I am a heterosexual male with many friends who happen to be gay. Oddly enough, they just like everyone else...go figure?
May it all be well with you.

Merely being homosexual is not a sin. Homosexual acts, on the other hand, are sinful on account of the fact they are contrary to the Christian Virtue of Chastity.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches:
2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.
2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection.
2396 Among the sins gravely contrary to chastity are masturbation, fornication, pornography, and homosexual practices.
2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.
As you can see, these teachings are in sync with "hating the sin, not the sinner."

specific, easily, as a results of fact it would be a extensive bounce forward for the lives of one billion Catholics and their better half and toddlers -- alongside with possibly a hundred million or greater people who fall in love with others of the comparable intercourse. To withhold forgiveness does not make the international a greater helpful place. To forgive might. to boot, the *implications* of such an admission are super. they won't logically settle for homosexuality with out additionally dropping their anti-contraceptive stance, which might unlock somewhat some immediately, married Catholic couples. it would additionally mean they might have re-theory gender subject concerns. in the event that they well-known homosexuality, they had possibly additionally circulate to settle for woman priests and can drop celibacy. a extensive, gaping sexual wound of the international might finally be healed -- i could be very happy for this manner of progression.

I don't "condemn" it hastily. I think this is actually a real testing point for the Church. For those of us who hold to a literal interpretation of the Bible, we have to ask ourselves how we do that and yet still be able to have compassion. The answer is hard to come by, and is more complex than can be addressed here. All I'll say is that please know that compassion should ALWAYS be part of any Christian's response to you...not disgust.

Lust is a deadly sin. Homosex is outlawed under cannon law. You can read about this in the Catechism. It doesn't quibble about why a person is homosexual. It just says a person given to same-sex attractions is bound to chastity. They are called to be chaste. The willful act of having homosex is the sin. Not suffering same-sex attractions. So be celibate. And by the way i am heterosexual and celibate.
-LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
Amen.
