Most people's words paint incomplete pictures of what happens to them. Even great writers struggle with this problem--how to get an idea across to another so that he or she "sees" it in the mind's eye. I rather liked the way Joseph Conrad described his method of description. I must paraphrase it, as the book I read it in is buried in a box somewhere. Conrad weaves a mist of words in a holographic manner, telling of everything that surrounds an idea, so that the central theme comes through in a sort of holographic way--he dances around the singularity, so to speak, so that it may be more clearly shown to the reader, although it cannot be absolutely and directly described. The darkness in "Heart of Darkness" is such a mist; Conrad was there, on the Congo, but could he describe what happened to him through his protagonist Marlowe? I think he does a good job at it, but then there is a secret darkness within him that he could not convey. But by the mist of words, you know it is there and unspoken.

If there are no words ... maybe try to draw or paint it? But most probably, would just have to keep it within myself.

I can relate to this.

You would have to wait until the words come. When they do, it will flow out of you. It did with me.
