Christians can wear any kind of clothing...some clothing is not exactly edifying or (beneficial), but we can wear what we like...if you think something isn't proper or good for you to wear, then you probably shouldn't wear it...otherwise...enjoy the kippot.
It would probably be best to ask Observant Jews what they think as it is part of their tradition.

If you appeared in a Protestant congregation wearing such, people would assume you are an orthodox Jew and think it a bit odd - unless you were a Messianic Jew.

i see no point i wearing one. it covers how much of your head? does not keep the sun out of your eyes, and quite frankly, it looks silly to me. I would not wear one.
That does not mean i would laugh at or make fun of any one wearing one, i wear a straw cow boy hat, i am sure that looks silly to others :)
