Me - a straight atheist
or
My friend Kevin - a gay Christian

Kevin is not flamboyantly gay and does not flaunt his sexuality, neither does he hide it.

I am respectful of the beliefs of others and seldom talk about religion unless it comes up in conversation. Nonetheless, I am open about my beliefs and will talk about them freely in an appropriate setting.

I'm genuinely curious to know which one of us (if either) would make you more uncomfortable in a close social setting. I would also like to know why you feel the way you do.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Go on with life. If you don't survive, next world here I come! If you survive, get up, brush off your pants, and keep moving. No one on earth is promised tomorrow. If we start to be afraid and stop living our lives, that's when the terrorists win and economies die. Remember the example of India, getting back on the train the next day and going on with their lives!!!

It's sick!

I was watching a football game with my son a couple of months ago. It was just a game of tackling and men trying to force their wills on their enemy men.

It was a good and pure experience, with all sorts of physical action and drama. Then it was ruined.

The cheerleading team was leading people to sin over and over. It's sick. You are watching this game of future leaders of our new generation, men who lead other men into battle and understand their leadership role in the world. Other men understand this and love it.

Then these women come into play and tempt all these men and women away from good things. There are cameras out there, and these women who have legs that don't quit run out there and do cartwheels. It's sick! I left at halftime, because I didn't want that kind of stuff in my mind anymore. I can't deal with people who lead me to sin, and Jesus is my tourniquet.

Was wondering which ground have you noticed gives you thumbs down the most? If I answer a question with more of an athiest view I get a lot of thumbs down. But if its a religious point of view I don't get as many. There for either their are less athiest here than religous people, or religious people are more judgemental. Your thoughts?

Particularly positions of considerable power, do you think it affects the experience you have in the people of that country who witness to you or others. In other words: do you think the faith base of the party in power affects how people handle themselves as a whole either in public or in private?
Or if you are of the same faith as the person in office, does the thought that they are in a position of power change the way you witness? In other words: does the faith base of the party in power affect the way you handle yourself in your witness?

By pride I do not mean contentment, satisfaction, or high opinion of oneself or works.

I mean the Pride in which a person desires to be above others and more powerful than others for no other reason than to be above others and more powerful than others. To be prideful of being richer, cleverer, wiser, stronger, and more powerful THAN SOME OTHER PERSON and to feel pleasure when the competitor is found to be wanting. Furthermore, if you consider this a bad thing, how often do you successfully stop yourself from being prideful?

I address this specifically to you because Christianity tends to consider this the "great sin", the idolatry of the self, and will go so far as to say that pride is the source of all those other vices (i.e. hatred, indifference etc).

Although this might not be directly associated with belief or disbelief in a deity, I want to see if there is any type of other correlation. What is you opinion?

My parents were educated. My mom is studying law and my dad graduated from business and administration. It shows that black people are capable of doing everything. My parents have learned to adapt to live in Europe since they moved here. I was brought up here and they lived in harmony and peacefully. My parents are people from respect and they are not 'monkey's' or 'n**gers' like most of you claim.

Us black people are just like everyone else. We have feelings too. We love others, well some of us do and we respect everyone else. I don't have any problems with other people, i like them for the inside or i dislike them because of who they are inside. So what's with the mean names and all of that? Were you guys brainwashed by Hitler? I don't know which planet most of you guys live on.

I have a few atheist friends that believe in souls. I don't quite understand this.

So, if you are an atheist that believes in souls, What do you think they are? Are they a material object, or something more...?

Nobody understands this anymore. There is a lot of sin in the world, and people using text messages and DVD's to spread a bad word against God and in favor of lust and bad things.

When I was in Panama in '82 for government business, I had that guy lead me to sin. It was a war that waged for 7 1/2 years. I finally was able to get away from the bad influences and find my Jesus, who was my tourniquet and eliminated the sinful nature. I'm now pure and am given to teach now. I was led to sin to be able to give an example later that rehab does work!

Honestly, It's really none of your business.
