I found this on website...
The woman remembers from stories that she's read that monkey's paw can supposedly grant wishes
Of all the stories in the series, the monkey's paw is probably the one that clearly shows the consequences of wishing something that does not belong to you.

Curious George's paw, like any other monkey paw, would not be good luck for anyone beside the monkey it belonged to, since when they had it someone cut their paw off!!

They are very good charms- but only on a live monkey-they are very bad luck for anyone carrying them without the live monkey. A sign of Death!!
Cross yourself if you got one- the giver wants you to die!!!

If you are in possession of a true monkey's hand, you are participating in illegal activity. Monkeys are on the endangered species list.
As well, "good luck" is a superstition, and superstitions are created to generate fear. It is far better to choose to live without fear than to be irresponsible about one's behaviors because a superstition might "get" them.

Yuk. I would hope that monkey paws give bad luck and draw karma on anyone that owns one. How sick. I thought in this day and age,
people were more environmentally conscious and wouldnt want something like this.

rabbit's foot or monkey paw, neither did the little beasties any good luck. Yuck why would you want a dead paw anyway?
