Muslims, Jews and Scientists from Europe created a cosmopolitan society of peace and mutual co-existance.

Islamic scholars of Religon (Mullahs,Imams,Ulama) were also scientists since the Quran encouraged the Muslims to look into science to see the power of God.

Muslim and Jewish scholars along with some Heretic Christians or "enlightened" scientists created a "JEWEL" in Europe.

Science, Mathematics,Astronomy, Philosphy etc. were discussed and studied with all three faiths living in harmony and peaceful coexistance.

This islamic attitude to science, mathematics and learning was so foreign in Europe that it was considered heresy and blasphemy.

This got the Catholic Church so UPSET they hunted down all the Muslims/Heritics and converted them by force or killed them.

The Church was so fanatically against free thought and scientific research that they blamed the Renaissance on Islam.

In revenge for undermining the awesome power of the Church (and planting a seed for Europe to emerge out of the Dark Ages) ,the Pope killed or baptised by force all the Muslims (and Jews) in Spain.

Then the Pope and Church along with loyal Kings started the Crusades to make sure Islam would not reach any further into Europe with their "heretical views".

The Islamic view of One God, no original sin, and the belief that there should be NO Religious hierarchy and NO organized church was a total slap in the face of Christiandom.

-----------

“The Renaissance of Europe did not take place in the 15th century. Rather it began when Europe learned from the culture of the Arabs. The cradle of European awakening is not Italy. It is the Muslim Spain.” (Robert Briffault, The Making Of Mankind)

“The Christian World came to wage crusades against Muslims but eventually knelt before them to gain knowledge. They were spellbound to see that Muslims were owners of a culture that was far superior to their own. The Dark Ages of Europe were illuminated by nothing but the beacon of Muslim Civilization.” (F.J.C Hearushaw, The Science of History.)

“The greatest crimes, the greatest “sin” of Mohammed in the eyes of Christian West is that he did not allow himself to be slaughtered, to be “crucified” by his enemies. He only defended himself, his family and his followers; and finally vanquished his enemies. Mohammed’s success is the Christians’ gall of disappointment… He did not believe in any vicarious sacrifices for the sins of others.” (Edward Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.)

If Jihad really meant "kill all infidels" then Muslims would have wiped out all non Muslims in the Middle East during their 1000 year rule of Jerusalem and 700 year rule of Spain. On the contrary these were the ONLY times all three faiths co-existed in peace and Islamic universities attended by Jews and Christian were a catalyst for the Renaissance in Europe.

During the Crusades rumors and misinformation were spread about Islam to rally the Christians into fervor for the battle with the “Heathen”. That fervor gave birth to some of the most regrettable crimes in the history of Christianity.

On the contrary, when Salahuddin retook Jerusalem and fought against an external evil (the lesser Jihad) they FORGAVE all the Crusaders who had massacred men, women and children. It was a "struggle" (greater Jihad) for the Muslims to conquer the internal desire for revenge and retribution.

Even to this day, Muslims hold the keys of the Holy Sepulchre (Christianity's holiest Church in Jerusalem) because it brought peace between all the Christian factions.

Only the atheists have the intellectual honesty to acknowledge these Islamic accomplishments :

Hi,
I have been going to church since December and now think im ready to become a christian, I have decided this because I believe in god and want to follow and do the correct things, but also I feel im doing this because of a guy called Tim I really like at church, and im not allowed to date him unless im a christian, I am partly doing it because of him, I would be lying if I said I wasnt, but im also wanting to do it because since going to church I have manged to change quite alot and sort out some bad things I had been doing, such as drinking too much most nights and adult modelling.
So what I want to know is do u think I am ready to become one yet, or is it too soon?
and if so what do I do would being baptised show then that im a christian?

Thanks

In Genesis, Adam and Eve's sons both made offerings to God. Cain gave Him grains and plants and Abel gave a sacrificed animal. God liked Abel's gift, but not Cain's - which led Cain to be jealous and kill his brother. Why was God unimpressed by what Cain had offered in the first place? My Bible doesn't really explain.

I constantly hear that the Bible is the indisputable word of God. Therefore everything in it is perfect.
So as someone who goes to church and/or watches it on TV, I see alot of women sinning.
1 Cor. 11:5-13 "but any woman who prays or prophesises with her head unveiled disgraces her head-... For if a woman will not veil herself, then she should cut off her hair:....Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head unveiled?"
Now does that make Omish women more pious and in better favour of God then other Christian women who do not veil themselves? Afterall, that is a quote from the Bible, the true word of God. And if you haven't been educated in that before will you now change?
Just curious?

life is a mystery, we all go thru things, but to consult a person who claims to be psychic is so foolish, nobody can predict your future, god already knows what your future holds, man does not, so go with the flow and stop worrying about your future, live in the moment.

Ok just wondering. God gave us brains right and wants them to use them right?
So according to Christianity..."we can not comprehend God" at least thats one of the diverse answers I get to strange questions like "Why did God create the Geoduct?"
Now wouldnt it be awesome if the answers to our question on creation and the likes were more obvious. This knowledge would lead to understanding and therefor lead to a stronger relationship with god?
Isnt knowledge rather than faith a stronger selling point to all this?
Or does God enjoy keeping his people in the dark...and if so isnt that in a way almost cruel to give us these wonderful brains and not allow us to use them in the highest regard...understanding the meaning to all this he has created.
People say Gods gift was creation...when in all reality its the answers to "why" that would serve the greatest purpose.

Are their 25, 26 or 27 because according to the doctrine of the Trinity many are confused on this subject but the bible specifically tells us that their is One Throne inbetween 12 thrones on each side of the one throne.

When the bible talks about Jesus being seated on the right hand of God, it is NOT a literal statement, the right hand of God means POWER and not position of place. This would contradict the view of many who believe Jesus is literally sitting on a throne beside his Father. The left hand of God is for his people. wheres the throne for the Holy Ghost? Hmm!

The bible also refers to the wounded Lamb but this was symbolic for the death of Jesus, We will NOT see Jesus walking around wounded, but we will see him sitting on the one Throne

The Truth is their is but One God/Spirit and One Body, we will see Jesus Christ sitting on the One Throne of God and in this body of Jesus dwells the deity which is the One True God.

The bible points out that there is 25 thrones.

It does bother me that some people get all their food, rent, insurance, education, etc paid for because some people really, really need assistance and cannot get it because somebody w/ 12 babies daddies figured out how to scam the system so they don't have to work. I feel the system is abused because how can someone be on Medicaid, get food stamps, be on Welfare and drive a Cadillac? That's not very fair, don't you think?

"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife. thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house"

This is probably the most interesting as it prohibits thought.

Is this trying to wipe out legal problems before they happen by suggesting to people that thoughts are equal to deeds?

How far is term covet meant to go?

Is it wrong to look at your neighbor's house and aspire to have the same?

Is it an attempt to prevent crimes of passion by trying to make people punish themselves for thinking about another person's partner?

Where is the line drawn between recognising beauty and coveting?

.........or aspiration and envy?

I envy the senior generation because most of you grew up in a time when you didn't have to have two incomes to make things work. Now I don't mean any disrespect by that at all, but in today's world you absolutely have to have both spouses working just to pay the bills. We don't have fancy cars, or even a really nice house, it's a fixer upper, but still it takes both me and my husband's salary just to make ends meet. Plus I have a 12 year old son, and I'm going to college full time. I'm exhausted. I called in work today just so I could catch up on the housework and rest a little bit. How did you juggle finances and raising a family? Did you have to work, or were you a stay at home mom?

The entire point of life is to better one's self, and in turn, use that to better the world around them. Some people view a pursuit of knowledge as not only a bad thing, but in some cases, a detriment to society. Why?

Without the pursuit of knowledge (i.e., intellectualism), we would all be living in huts, banging on rocks to communicate. Because some people dared to think, society advanced, and was able to sever the umbilical cord from a previous era or belief.

What is it about the advancement of thought that scares some?

Well for one I think I could have been a Nazi, because I always subconsciously in the back of my mind hate Jews, and I in the back of my mind admire Hitler, but consciously in my mind I don’t like them and I don’t hate Jews because I know it is bad. I also think I got shot in the throat, or stabbed there because I cant stand anything touching my throat, not wind, water, clothing, even thinking about the front of my throat irritates it.
so I would really like to know why I think these things.
