I am a member of an african drumming group. When we are playing and are in sync, I can often hear voices entwined with the music. I don't understand what they are saying, they are a different language (African perhaps?) It only happens to me. Does this mean anything? I am not crazy!! Is there a significance? Has any one else had it happen to them? Thanx!

Aside from the first question, I am wondering if there are any Roman Catholics in Yahoo R and S who know about the different rites of the Catholic Church?

I myself am Ukrainian Catholic and I also know many Melkite Catholics.

If you didn't know, as a RC, how does it feel to know that their are other Catholic rites?

There are some major differences too:

1. Infant communion
2. Married Priests
3. Different Liturgical Calander
4. Different Saints
5. Prolific use of Icons
6. Different Vestments
7. Differnt Structure of Governence

(To name a few)

Note: I did not say right, as in right or wrong, or right as in right or left, but rite - as in a division or differentiation of churches according to liturgy, governence and historical origen....

I lost my wife last August to cancer.

I lost my only child on Friday.

The only way to ease that burden is to bring them back to life, or to throw myself into starting a new family when I know it is very unlikely I'll live long enough to see a child reach adulthood.

No one here is in a position to help ease that burden.

Words of sympathy are touching. It helps a little to know so many find this a tragedy.

But they have lives filled with others and it is not long before they are joyful again.

That is not what it is for me ...

I am in an empty, silent house I once called "home".

I can distract myself for a while, but I always come back to this reality where my family and dreams for the future are dead.

I've believed in Love all my life, and I am alone in an empty house.

It is not clear that this is a burden I alone must bear?

...is there any point in trying to reason with these people?

What do you get out of it, and do you think you are trying to do them good, by making them doubt their religion?

Do you think these people have anything else to guide them or that logic and reason will be anything other than harmful too them?

Is it time to leave them in peace and let them have a bit of deluded happiness?

What do you think?

No other religion requires money to advance to the "next level". Others have offering plates and donations and the like but in Scientology you must pay (up to several thousands) to advance.

Scientology also has a history of attacking the attacker and Fair Game, which have been documented as official policies. Critics of the Church are somehow weak, and church members will harass them and accuse them of other crimes like child molestation. Other religions may criticize their opponents, but most preach loving your neighbor, officially, and the like.

Also, do you have love for Lord Xenu?

If Christians can find an excuse not to follow these verses because they are “Pauls opinion” but the rest of the Bible is the “absolute word of God” then aren’t Christians just picking and choosing what their desires agree with ??

I say Trinity and other concepts are “Pauls Opinion” but nobody is ready to agree with that because it goes against the desires of most Christians.

That means the Bible is not the “WORD OF GOD”, it is just a book written by men and Christians follow it because its all they have….and since Paul said Christians no longer need to follow the cursed Mosaic Law…….Christians can Just live according to their desires.

If somebody says they only follow the rules of the NT and Jesus saved them from the Law in the OT, then why don’t they follow these FEW rules as written below ????

Why should the “change of Times” affect the obedience to GODs Laws ?

"Any woman who prays with her head unveiled dishonors her head. It is the same as if her head were shaven, for if a woman will not veil herself then she should cut off her hair. But if it is disgraceful for a woman to be shorn or shaven , let her wear a veil. (1 Corenthians 11 :5).

Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed ADULTRY with HER already...-----(MATT 5:028)

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at HOME, good, OBEDIENT to their HUSBANDS... ------ (Timothy 2:005)

Likewise, ye wives, be in SUBJECTION to your own HUSBANDS. ----- (1PE 3:001)

Women should remain SILENT in the Church. They are NOT ALLOWED to speak, but must be in SUBMISSION, as the Law says. – (1 Corinthians 14:34)

"I permit NO woman to TEACH or have AUTHORITY over men". –( 1 Timothy 2:11-14)

Can I get some advice on dealing sensitively with a new colleague of ambiguous gender? What's the etiquette? I haven't been able to find guidelines online. This person is starting a study abroad program, in a very conservative country, for which I am a program assistant: they will be coming to me with questions about the program and life here. The person did not introduce themselves as 'transgendered' however their physical appearance is very much at odds with the gender on their application, their name is asexual, etc. I can understand why this person would be reluctant to raise the issue. I would like to let them know 'hey, its totally cool, let me know how I can help you' but I also don't want to make them self-conscious. I have lots of gay and lesbian friends -- I've just never had a transgender friend (that I know of). Any quick advice appreciated as our official orientation is tomorrow. Thanks!

in Church to read the Bible in orignial format that it would bring your faith together through the denominations? Would there still be debate on meaning do you think? This is serious question. I'm really curious.

Christians~YOU are getting the questions that non believers fall to when THEY can not wrap their heads around what we tell them.Nons feel like they NEED to discredit the"obvious flaws"in our knowledge. For every person that turns from God or mocks OUR efforts here,THERE ARE OTHERS that are being reached just BY our replies. It may NOT be our Job to reach the very people that try and discredit us.YET,THEY TOO are PART of Gods PLAN.They are here by His GRACE to help US ALL.Whether the nons believe that or NOT is NOT of our concern, because WE know the "truth".WE believe in Gods divine gifts of putting others in our paths to HELP HIS plan. Until a heart is PREPARED to release the mean,or their GRIEFS and turn their lives around, they NEED more information. We are put here by God to RELAY His promises. Why us?Because we have prepared HEARTS and excepted the job of BEING His soldier.Christians that stay here, and NOT leave due to "mean", learn A LOT. Nons R Blessings!STAY and help the lurkers.

Hi-

My question is this....how many of you believe that if you are not Christion, you go to hell? Just wondering.

Because the reason that religionS (with an s, yes it's plural) exist,
is because people around the world believed different things. Believe, is basically another word for think. So we are not even positivley SURE of what we believe. It is something that we follow throughout our lives, and when we die, we go up to the heaven that we believe exists. So everones heaven can be different! So please respect other reliegions, b/c they might think the same as you. Peoples minds work differently, RESPECT THAT. (and i do repect your opinion if that is your opinion, i just don't AGREE with it.)

there are many different divisions in christianity, everyone claim they are right. however which one is the true Bible?
The Bible has been written in Greek, while the language of Jesus is Armanic or hebro. Then the Bible has been translated to other different langauages. and we all know that many words can carry a complete different meaning when its translated into another language.

where is the real words of God, and when i say God i meant the God who sent Jesus, talked to Moses, created Adam and Eve.

Do you think god will answer this question himself? If so, will he be able to make me choose him as best answer?

After all, if god does answer, it really should be something incredibly profound that I would have no argument against. If he doesn't answer, isn't it proof that if he does exist, he really doesn't care about showing you that he has any interest in your well being since he refuses to prove me wrong. He gave Saul of Tarsus proof, why won't he give it to someone like me?

the words of the Bible has been changed to fit the desire of those who wrote it, look how each writer is trying to twist this verse to his own believe Matthew 19:17

first, it's very abvious Jesus has seperated himself from being God, God and Jesus are two different thing.
King James Version, Matthew 19:17
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
http://kjvbible.org/kjvbible/B40C019.htm

2nd writer didn't like how this Verse showing God and Jesus are two different thing, so he has to write it differently than the king James version to make Jesus appear as he is God:
New American Bible:
17 He answered him, "Why do you ask me about the good? There is only One who is good. If you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
http://www.nccbuscc.org/nab/bible/matthew/matthew19.htm

amazing! Isn't this suppose to be the Bible of God or the Bible of people?

Is the bible an unauthorized biography that he's ashamed of? Is it a peice of crap that he doesn't want anything to do with? Is he afraid he'll have to account for all the inaccuracies, errors, and flat out fabrications claimed in this particular work? Or is he really just dead or non-existent?

Recently on Yahoo JWs have said, "JWs worship Jehovah and Jesus Christ" and, "JWs do believe that Jesus was divine as John 1:1 says. Divine does not mean the almighty, just that he was a spirit being. If Jesus was God no salvation would be possible..." and, "Jesus Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God". (I can provide their Yahoo! names but I don't want to get any of them into trouble.)

I thought they insisted that only Jehovah is to be worshipped as God, because to worship anyone else would be polytheism, which the Bible, Jehovah and Jesus condemn. Yet they say Jesus is "a god" and "the Mighty God" but he is a distinct person from the Almighty God, Jehovah! So if they are really monotheists, they cannot give Jesus any form of worship whatever. If they give Jesus any worship, they are polytheists. This is why they never pray to Jesus. (In anticipation - respect and obedience is NOT worship - I respect and obey my husband but I do NOT worship him!)
