They tried to bus in loads of down and outs into Oregon by all sorts of means because they wanted to win an election there. They were making fun of the values of middle America in lots of ways whether with attitudes to sex, 72 Rolls Royces, or other means. Neverthelesss there was wide ranging spiritual studies and meditations going on there which would have been a good grounding for people interested in a spiritual path.
A lot of these people are older now and the few I have met do not regret there times there. Lot of fun and a lot of learning.
