yeah so what? Moses killed a bunch of his followers (Exodus 32:27-29). Is that supposed to "prove" something, too?

How is Greek the language of Jesus? He was not born in Greece, he did not live in Greece.

The Jews translated the Old Testament Hebrew into Greek (viz. Septuagint), and from quotes given by Jesus, that He used this translation. This proves to us that it is appropriate to translate the Bible from the original languages into the common language of a nation. Thus it is appropriate to translate the Bible into English, Spanish, Chinese, etc..., thus there is no need for Christians to learn, speak the original languages.

However there is great benefit in understanding the original languages of Hebrew and Greek. As people are able they should seek to learn them.

EDITED:
Moses punished an adulterous, idolatrous people, which shows us the seriousness of sin. Your point?

It is thought Jesus taught in Aramaic, since no mention is made of the language used, and the common language of the whole region, and native tongue of resident Jews, was Aramaic. Most common people in Judea would not speak Greek as a mother tongue.

Jesus didn't speak Greek. He spoke Aramaic. Why would people throughout the world speak the languages spoken in Jesus' time and locality anyway??

Wasn't it hebrew? The history channel had an episode that went to where his youth town supposedly was. Everyone there spoke hebrew. The answers below me say aramaic, which JC would have definitely known as well. Oddly enough, the bible never says that Jesus spoke English, Japanese or Korean. I would think a God could speak any language he wished...

Are you sure it wasn't Arabic? After all, Mohammed knew something about the old testament and he wasn't a Greek scholar. And his homies think a translation of the Koran/Quran is not valid in any language oither than Arabic.

Aramaic you mean? Greek was the language of the people who mollested the religion and turned it against the people it was designed to help.

Man did that answer sound bitter or what!? sheesh! I need some coffee!

Seriously though, some churches hold masses in Greek. Greek Orthadox does sometimes..
