Lack of strong principles from seeing the degradation of morals by social "hero's", everything is OK. Live and let live is good but they need a way and a reason that isn't being imparted by the current social order (in America). Get the butt off the couch or from the CRT/TV and DO SOMETHING isn't imperative. In some sad way it's not even considered an option for some.

pressure from an overly sexualized society. It seems nowadays you are not considered cool if you havent had sex, toke drugs, or been in fights.
