Why do americans think they have the best nation in the world? When clearly they don't!

We are all proud of the country we come from. Are you not proud of yours?

I doubt most Americans really believe that they live in the best nation in the world. However, our nation is a great nation. Sure, I dislike our president, and most of the government, but you realize we have so much freedom and so many opportunities, people who live in less fortunate countries WANT to come to America. I don't think that America is the best country, mostly because I have never lived in another country. There could be some place better, but for now I don't know.
Besides, haven't you heard of "nationalism"? When you live in a nation generally you have pride in it. Of course, extreme nationalism is very bad.
You obviously don't know many Americans if you think we all think that we live in the best country in the world.

The nation hasn't changed- the people have. It's still my home and I'm glad to say it is. It's the media, the "Bush haters", the far left and far right nuts, the political whiners, the "politically correct" whiners, the ignorant whiners, the law breakers, those who are willfully allowing the laws to be broken without consequence, those who keep pulling our constitutional rights out from under us, those who turn a blind eye to injustice, those with no backbone when it comes to standing up for , and/or behind those that made us a free nation in the first place!!!!!

It is the best nation in the worl as far as I'm concerned. No I do not agree with everything that happens in the USA, and I do not like some of the things that go on. We do have freedoms that people take for granted. Do you you mind if I ask you what Country are you from? Have you lived in the USA, if not don't knock it until you try it.

Why are we "CLEARLY" not the best? Just because Americans have pride in their country does not mean that we believe we are the best.. Sure, some of us may believe that, and that's fine, everybody should have pride in their home country.

ya u r right. america is not the best nation in the world. but they think so bcoz they hold the control over world bank,UN ,.WTO,IMF etc...... so they try to dominate other countries using them
