"Feminism threatened the most personal relationships in people's lives. Feminists asked men and women to think of themselves in new ways and to relate differently to each other.
If wives, mothers, daughters changed, husbands, fathers, and sons would be called upon to change as well. Home and family would be altered."
Hymowitz
I guess when it comes to basic human rights people haven't changed all that much.

the Arctic and other northern extremes were not best described by the words 'Eskimo' or even 'Inuit', since these were too specific.

However they didn't give an alternative.

What is the 'correct' term (if there is one)? What do they call themselves? What do anthropologists refer to them as?

while smoking a cigarette, should they be asked to put it out by a customer who just happend by and decided to sit there? The area is a long distance from any entrance but there are soda machines nearby that create stray traffic. Yes, this happen to me and I got up rolled my eyes and took my ciggarette with me without a word. If I was not in uniform I would have pointed straight to the Smoking Permitted In This Area sign with the big red letters. Am I wrong for feeling that this was very rude of her?

How difficult would it be to make a battered and broken slave believe a lie?

I don't think it would have been difficult at all. I'm sure after 400 odd years of slavery you'd go along with just about anything if you think it will get you freed, right?

Well obviously it wasn't difficult.

Jesus has NEVER been portrayed as blonde hair with blue eyes. Where do you people pull this lie from?

Sure, perhaps he should have darker skin, but that is it.

Every portrayal of Jesus I have ever seen show him with brown hair and brown eyes. Even Southpark (who would jump at such an opportunity) portrays him as brown hair with brown eyes.

So, where do you people come up with that? Do you think spreading that lie really helps your cause?

Just because the democratic national convention makes something up does not mean its true!

do you ever feel real frigthened? What makes you feel unbalanced, insecure, about to lose it... are you aware of your fears? Some say awareness is the 1st step in taking control of our fears but what about the fears we can't control?

After all, each one is basically a manual of how to live life in a manner that is right and good. Does it not therefore make sense to review every teaching that is available and produce a definitive text for today?
Does any religion say this cannot be done?

My sister recently told me that she is a practicing Wiccan, or a witch. As a Christian, I have no problem accepting people of other religions as long as they are secure in their spirituality and believe it with their whole hearts. However, sometimes I think that she may be just going along with the crowd on this one; something I cannot and will not respect. How should I ask her about this?

i was raised Protestant (Methodist), and while i was younger, it was good for me. now, i am a spiritually struggling adult, wife of a USNavy Sailor, mum of an 18 month old boy...and i realized a while ago that organised religion is not for me.

i am eco-friendly, very lunar, and believe there is more to life that what you see. i want to learn about paganism because it might be a good fit for me, and if nothing else, it might help me understand who i strive to be...
