http://www.teenwitch.com is a great site for young pagans; it's a discussion forum for & about teenage witchcraft & paganism.

http://community.livejournal.com/nonfluffypagans is a good place to look around--see what's been discussed, what's interesting, and decide if there are people you'd like to contact individually.

There's a free online witchcraft course at http://cauldronofannwn.com/temple/lessons.html ; it's one of the few that's really designed to help the person become a witch, instead of just teaching some info *about* witchcraft & expecting you to pass a few online tests. It's also hard--but you can look at any or all of the lessons & exercisese first, and decide if it looks like something you'd like to do.

My advice would be to start joining pagan listserves and other online communities. That way you have a wide variety of people to talk to, instead of just one or two. Additiohnally, finding a teacher can be tough; while you're looking.waiting, listserves and other internet contacts get you into contact with all sorts of different viewpoints, which IMO is healthy.

Good places to start are:

http://groups.yahoo.com
http://www.tribe.net
http://www.livejournal.com (there are a lot of good communities there)

Also, if you want to find people in real life to talk to, try the Witches of the World directories at http://www.witchvox.com as well as http://pagans.meetup.com for people close to you. (Just be sure to exercise caution if meeting people in person; discussion groups that meet monthly are usually okay, but be wary if you decide to meet someone in person.)

If you decide that you want a teacher or a coven, you may be waiting a while--there are a lot more seekers than teachers, IME. Additionally a lot of people get into the idea that they MUST have a teacher, and they can't advance without one. I've been pagan for a decade and I've pretty much been solitary with a few brief exceptions the whole time. I actually feel I'm better for it because I did the work myself; however, that's my personal experience, and you can take it as you will.

You might try reading something my husband wrote:

He has some good tips on going it alone. Both of us supplemented our learning by talking to other people online and in person in discussion groups and such, but neither one of us was formally taught. We're both authors now, so I would assume we count as more than beginners ;)

But this is just my perspective, and you can take it as you will. Good luck!

If you really want to speak to someone face-to-face, your best bet is a local small occult store. Many cities have them - finding them is the harder part. Check online for occult supply stores, or in your phone book. A lot of the stores are privately owned and operated by Wiccans and Pagans. Speak to the staff there and be open about your questions. Ten to one, they will be delighted to help you.
