That's one of the problems, I guess. Another is that it's based on stories and myths, and that it divides people and oppresses science.

I will agree with you to a degree humans are not perfect, and all have sinned. However I feel the problem with religion (as you refer to it ) is that most of the people I know follows religion and not God. To me there is a big difference in religion and salvation.
Salvation is to know God and serve him through all things. Salvation is to feel Gods presence, and to know that he is with you . Religion is a man made way of showing that they are worshiping a God. It is cold and without feeling. Its a show!
Gods presence is felt, it's like when you are alone in a room and you feel there is someone ther with you but you know there isn't another human there its Gods presence. It's the feeling that a new parent gets the first time they hold a newborn child in there arms. So Mr. I HAVE SPOKEN, you keep watching those religious people and I will keep feeling Gods presence, and we will see who is better off

Not by itself. There are lots of things that humans do that are not nearly as messed up as religion. The main problem with religion is it relies on the whims of faith rather than reason and evidence. Also unlike science there is no self correcting mechanism. In fact it is just the opposite, when errors are determined, corrections are frowned upon. Instead the lies just build upon each other.

That is one of the probems...the answer, however, is that we have a perfect Book, written by a righteous and holy God (II Timothy 3:16-17). If we stray from the teachings of the Word of God, we will inevitably fall into error; but if we stay with its doctrine, we will be teaching what God teaches. The other help we have as imperfect people is the presence of the Holy Spirit of God, who comes when we repent of our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior (John 16:13-15). He helps us to stay on the right track and lets us know if we waiver. Our conscience helps too, but can be seared into submission (I Timothy 4:1-3).

Religion is in today's techno centric perception, a highly dis cordant social tradtion. Dramatic shifts in paradigm of gauging the qualities of everythings from ethical- spiritual towards material commercial assessment across World has taken a heavy toll on the basic religious mind-set of men.
Not all teachers nor followers were absoluteicons of purity, even earlier. but ,yes, things seem like starting to steadily going down.

im sure that imperfect humans is ONE factor.
But the fact that imposters have Fallen from Grace, and intend to deceive people on earth, and that many believe their lies is a greater Factor.
in my opinion a true believer sees people as their equal, and gives praise to those that can do much more than they can and sustains those that have Gifts beyond their own ability. If such a person is Sent by God than there is a respect for council and teachings.

Those who believe don't worry about imperfect humans. That's the beauty of religion. It's based on faith. Those who believe are very comforted by it and don't need a bunch of prescription drugs from their psychiatrist to get through the day.

They know themselves to be imperfect, so they try to attain some knowledge. Once they find the Educator, they see their duties to introduce Him to other people. They are nothing more than the rest of the humankind. The most great event to be noticed here is the appearance of the Educator Who revolutionizes the whole world.

Better???
For me a belief in a perfect God, rather than imperfect men, better..
Remembering that those with their religious theories, are imperfect, as I am. That makes me question and learn for myself. Although I am not always correct, striving to answer lifes questions and be at peace with myself and my world, are a life long ambition. Hopefully, if I can maintain a positive attitude, it will have the results that rounds out my life. Better???
Notice,,,,I said my life, my beliefs, my ambitions.
Look for what makes your life better.
Better than what?? you ask.
Better than whatever you have.
If you have the tunasity to learn and question for yourself, you wont have time to judge others religions, beliefs, or ways of life.
Imperfect, yes, only Christ was perfect in my beliefs, and the quest is perfection for myself, although always illusive, that's my choice.
Imperfect, but trying for me...

what makes me better. Hmmm
I think our imperfections are a problem but they could be mostly eliminated if we would all just agree that there are some things we do not know. I guess it is less humane to have an Ido not know file folder.
Thats what makes me better. I have a big folder labeled "I do not know".

TOTALLY. Maybe we all need to REREAD this verse before doing anything in God's name found in Matthew 23:27, ".....all you pharisees* and teachers = popes (an outrageous human being wanting to be addressed as 'Father' ya right! Shady deacons-preachers-ministers, TV evangelists) are in for trouble and nothing but show offs! You're like whitewashed tombs, beautiful on the outside but inside are bones and filth. Outside you look good, but inside you are evil and only pretend to be good!"
I dont know what your heart tells you but, I know Im a sinner and I confess I cant teach anything good without assistance from our amazing God.
Peace.
