My husband and I have recently adopted my neice needless to say it was the best thing we have ever done. We Love her as if she was our own. In my heart she is MY daughter. So we have realized this is how we want to make our family grow. By adopting more children in need of a home. This world is over populated enough as it is. it is our duty to these children as people of this world to take care of them. I know not everyone is cut out for it. But the few of us that do have it in our hearts to adopt think that it shouldn't cost as much as it does. The thing is that ALL of the $$$ went to some greety lawyer and that IS what kills me is that he walked away ten + thousand dollars richer and we obviously walked away with a priceless jewel, but struggle to make ends meet. When that money could have gone to her college fund or something like that. What can we do to try and change the laws to where these lawyers aren't the ones walking away with our money.??????

Ok, I have a few questions regarding religion and God.

The first is what is god. And how is it a man.
Do you honestly believe that women were formed from a RIB? That the evolution theory is defunct, despite all the evidence supporting it and lack thereof on your behalf.
also, how can you believe in the afterlife? Is it more of a comfort thing, thinking that when you die, there is something and not just uncomprehending nothingness?

Not being a religious person, I cannot get into this mindset.
I know that a person is just the neurons firing in the brain in a certain pattern, not a soul.
And when you die, there will be nothing, not black like sleep; because you wouldn’t be able to comprehend it, because you will be nothing, cease to exist

In addition, since many religious people on this site tend to take anything said against their religion as a personal insult anyway, consider this a challenge against your religion, a friendly one, but a challenge none the less.

I love to write and I have my first book well into production and another great idea brewing (basically my own version of the End Times, sorta mimicing the Left Behind Series except my own spin) But there are three other books I have floating in my mind, which peaks your interest? For Atheists, which idea do you dislike the most, since you probably wouldn't like Christian 'propaganda'.

1) "Separation of Church and State: Violated" - Investigate Separation of Church and State decisions in the last ten years or so, and see if the courts or school boards violated religious liberty or if they made a just decision.

2) "Age of Reason: Refuted" - plain and simple, refute the great book Age of Reason by Thomas Paine.

3) "When Jesus was 'Nice'" - Look at all the times Jesus did "nice" things and see WHY he was actually doing it. Was he doing it just to help people out, or was there some greater purpose, namely, to prove to people his divine authority???

What do you guys think?

I only chucked out a few christian books like "Genesis Flood", and Josh Mcdowells book "Evidence that demands a verdict" (wish I had of kept that one, for fun). And Keith Greens "Last Days Ministries collection".
"Late great planet earth" was chucked out while I was christian. However my bibles still remain, except the few that fell apart from opening and reading too much, they had to go a while ago.
How about you all.

Personally speaking i believe in God but in no religions. But let me ask you, what if i go around praying to all Gods? Since all religions tend to teach morally right things, i follow all their rules at my own will...then will i go to heaven? Becuz i believe, it is 'the way of life' and 'belief' that counts...not in what God or what religion becuz basically all religions are pointing to the same GOD in different names...am i right?

Okay, I believe that GOD has that special "someone" out there for me. Now, as far as "biblically", does anyone know if I'm supposed to "Wait on the Lord" or actively put "legs" on my prayers and actively seek her?I have scripture to back up BOTH, but what do YOU think?

Chapter 6:1-6
1 And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied that in those days were born unto 2 them beautiful and comely daughters. And the angels, the children of the heaven, saw and lusted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let us choose us wives from among the children of men 3 and beget us children.' And Semjaza, who was their leader, said unto them: 'I fear ye will not 4 indeed agree to do this deed, and I alone shall have to pay the penalty of a great sin.' And they all answered him and said: 'Let us all swear an oath, and all bind ourselves by mutual imprecations 5 not to abandon this plan but to do this thing.' Then sware they all together and bound themselves 6 by mutual imprecations upon it. And they were in all two hundred; who descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn.

Maybe it makes us feel bad about ourselves (we can never be THAT attractive), or worse, maybe it makes us look for super-attractive partners.
