Like when a prisoner is being tortured by his|her captures, does the prisioner think to themselves, ' hey this guy really is love, he's like slowly burning of my flesh.'
And what do atheists think, hypothetically, if a god organises for you to be burned alive forever, will that teach you the truth as explained in the Bible quote-' God is Love.'?
Can the Christains also please explain how someone burning you alive forever and ever and ever and ever is LOVE?

Doesn't the Koran instruct Muslims to kill infidels and apostates (those who wish to convert from Islam)? Doesn't it also insist that good Muslims must strive to install a theocracy where they live, by violent means if necessary? So, wouldn't a Muslim have to renounce many of the fundamentals of his religion in order to embrace Western-style democracy?

If not, can you explain why?

Young children view their parents as bearers of infinite knowledge, so if your parents tell you that the Bible is the Word of God, you will accept it without needing any proof. But once you reach adulthood, you no longer have absolute trust in anyone - so there would be no one who could convince you of God's existence without providing some evidence to support the claim.

I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who, after being raised believing there was no god, decided as an adult that the Christian Bible was substantively accurate. If so, what made you decide this?

I live in a very cosmopolitan city, to which I see a variety of nationals on a daily basis. Specifically, I would like to know what can I say to Indian people as I'm passing buy, something they wouldn't expect a foreigner to say. So basically, I would like to know something else that is interesting and friendly to say rather than the ususal and boring 'hello.'

Methusela was 900-1000 years old. In those times many people counted moon cycles......there are about 13 moon cycles a year. Instead of solar years, we could use moon cycles. Maybe Methusela was only 77 when he died....very old for the time. Wasn't there a verse (in the NT I think) somewhere that said man will not live past 100 years?

Wesley Autry did a brave and praise worthy thing jumping onto those tracks to save that fellow as the train was approaching. He also sets an example of a good citizen. Perhaps what he is saying is that he was doing what any person would be morally (and in some States legally) obligated to do.

There is something much more sinister going on. He is getting the extensive coverage, talk show appearances, checks in the mail, scholarships for his kids......because he is Black. The media (NBC, ABC, Donald Trump, and others) are exploiting the situation and using this single individual's identity to atone their sense of guilt about racial relations in the US and try to expunge the stereotype that a Black male living in an inner city is only capable of crime. It also reeks of marketing.

I am from New York and have lived in the city since I was a teenager. This is not the first time something like this has happened. Of all of the timesit has happened, to my recollection the "hero" was White and the story got no more than network news coverage. I am not saying there is an unfairness in the coverage, but just another form of racism from using his race and socio-economic background for their own purposes.

The man clearly did a brave thing. But the media should stop exploiting it and simply cover the story for what it is. Checks, cash, scholarships, TV appearances, etc. is not going to address the shame in our past no more than does preferential treatment, quotas, African-American Student unions on campus, and changing the name of every expressway in every major city to "Martin Luther King."

And like anything with the media and the private life of one individual, it is out of his hands now and has taken a life of its own.
