There was a Jewish man named Jesus who did many miracles in his life time. He said that He was the son of God and that He and the father were one. Others killed him, for many reasons, some of them political. He died a painful death and was buried. On the third day he rose from the dead and His followers who were hiding and afraid had renews confidence. They began telling others and before long more people came to follow the teaching of Jesus. The church began and has continued for over 2000 years. A Christian is someone who believes in the death and Resurrection of Jesus and that He was the Christ, (that is the Jewish Messiah) and has chosen to follow in His teachings.
Jesus was not married. He probably followed some of the customs of Jewish monastic groups and was celebate.

Jesus said that he was the Son of God and Christianity is belief that He died on the cross to remove all those that believe in Him' s sins. The Da Vinci Code is a made up story. If you look for the book in the library it's classified as Fiction.

To answer the questions at the end of your post, Jesus said he was the Son of God, not a God.
The Da Vinci Code is a work of fiction based on historical and real places.

To me, Christianity means being a follower, believer, in Christ. CHRIST-ianity. Believing and trusting in what Jesus did/accomplished for our salvation is the heart of Christianity. The last eleven books of the Bible are not the gosples. PLEASE, READ THESE BOOKS. They will tell you much more about what Christianity means and the who, what, when, where, how, and why of things than I could ever write. In short, mankind did the one thing God said not to do thus causing disobedience-sin, to enter the world. Mankind has sinned ever since. It took perfection, a sinless holy being (Jesus) to take the sins of mankind away. Just like anything in life, it takes something right to correct a wrong. It takes something correct to rectify an incorrect. Jesus was, and is, that something - someone.Jesus, as the holy, loving, sinless, Son of God was able and did correct the problem and takes the sins of mankind away. Mankind has been given this forgiveness as a gift. Mankind didn't accomplish this, Jesus did. Now it's up to mankind to accept this gift and put our faith in God. By the grace of God, we have been offered forgiveness. Through faith in God we should accept this love and forgiveness. Forgiven, we can enter eternal beautiful everlasting life in Heaven. Mankind need to believe, thank , trust, and honor, God and receive the salvation He has won for us. The DiVinci Code: False, not Biblical, invented, or fabricated by people.

Jesus said in John 10:30, "I and My Father are one." The critics of the deity of Christ will say "well that doesn't mean He was claiming to be God....it just means He was saying that He was one in spirit with the Father". But the Jews who were there on the scene knew what He was saying. Look how they responded:
31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
32 Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?"
33 The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."
Mathew 26:63-66 says:
63 But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!"
64 Jesus said to him, "It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven."
65 Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy!
66 "What do you think?" They answered and said, "He is deserving of death."
I could give you a lot more but I'll leave it at that.

The DA Venice code is a book of fiction. And so is the Holy Bible. People are trying to take both books and make them Holy. How ridiculous it's like they did with the book of Mormon. OO

Yes Jesus is God...being a Christian means you believe Jesus came to earth..died on the cross for your sins...loves you and offers eternal life to all who believe he did these things...It is very simple...beyond that when you accept Him into your life he is always there and will not give you more problems than you can handle...that is a promise
