NO, it was punishment from jealous radicals who resent our way of life (probably because THEIR life stinks!).

I see four explanations as being viable.
1.) It was a group of overzealous, fanatical Muslisms, under the control of Osama bin Laden, seeking to inflict terror so that we Americans would bend to their will. (IMHO, possible)
2.) It was George W. Bush, and the governmental higher-ups, through either their actions or inactions, permitting or enticing said fanatics to inflict terror, so that we civilians would bend to the government's will. (IMHO, probable)
3.) It is a fulfillment of Revelation chapters 13 (specifically verse 3) and 18, and we fundamental Christians have been wrong about who the Antichrist is... that it is not a "who", but rather, a "what"... and that "what" happens to be America. (IMHO, likely)
4.) A combination of the all three (IMHO, most likely).
I do not see it as a punishment from God... but rather, the result of prophecy. It was bound to happen, one way or another... either by natural or by supernatural means.

It is a punishment from G.W Bush! George Bush hired some people to do all this! No I am not crazy! If you live in a very poor middle easter country and a rich man came to you and said...Do you want to make 5 million dollars (or whatever) you will want the offer no matter what you have to do. You would say I have no money my family can berely eat starving to death do not have good medical care. You will do it to save your family! So he hired some one who hired somone! He wanted a reason to get into Iraq to get the Oil! Since we are not getting it the only conculsion is that he is selling to to his buddies and making himself rich. I base this on the fact that him and his Pa love war and oil!

Like Mike said, it was just a bunch of idiots.
However, it is significant that these idiots were at least partially motivated by their religion. And in reaction to the act, some of the leading evangelists in the US (Falwell and Robertson) scrambled to try to explain how their god could allow such a horrible crime to occur.... Incredibly, they actually blamed abortionists, the ACLU, atheists, and separation of church/state groups -- implying that god was punishing all of us for tolerating these groups.

To sinful people, it is punishment; to godly people it is test to rise to higher spiritual development. Money have the same contradictory effects to various souls. Even air, water, light have the same contradictory effects.
Divine punishment does not come from outside, it comes from voluntary thoughts and actions.

Haven't you worked it out yet? Anything bad that happens to you is the work of satan, but anything bad that happens to someone else is gods punishment!

No ! It was the brutality of some sick people.
God never promotes killing. ..... kill your bad thoughts to bring the happiness to this world. No religion teaches people to kill. People interprit religious teaching to take advantages.
We have built religions, we have written the rules, if it was god ... he would have had only one religion and one one faith in this world.
Did you ever thought why you won't die .... when you curse other religions ! ... coz religions and beliefs are self created.... you will not die if you stop following your religion.

! Ecclesiastes 8:9 states: “Man has dominated man to his injury...man has not been successful since he became disobedient to god since time in eden..until now we are dependent in gods direction if we want to benefit in good way(jeremiah 10:23)....its satan causing all these to men(job 2:4)>>satan said....said: “Skin in behalf of skin, and everything that a man has he will give in behalf of his soul............(job 1:10)>>satan said to god>>>you yourself put up a hedge about him and about his house and about everything that he has all around? meaning we cannot serve god in hardship.......he is the one taunting god (our loyalty to him despite of obstacles caused by satan).........he accuses god(prov 27:11)........may we never fail and keep strong in faith!!!!
