Because, despite how much we would rather believe otherwise, we do not actually live in anything resembling a "just world." And when good or bad things happen, they are certainly no reflection of whether some Old Bearded Man In The Sky likes us or not.

It is called karma, even if you are always doing good deeds.
It's the bad you did in your pass life's, that is why at times
you have those bad days.
I think more good then bad thing happen to me, but I
take the good with the bad.
That's Life. I take it with a smile what else can you do ?

bad things happen to everyone, it is how we come through it and how we handle the bad times that make us strong. And a lot of bad things happen because we make bad choices that result in bad things, so it all depends, maybe you need to leave a little more info.

because that's the only way to test if there is really a goodness in their hearts..because if they are only pretending to be good, and something bad happened to them and they begin to cast the blame to God or to other people that means they are not really good..So when bad things happen to good people..the real good people cling more to God and believe in the promise that God will not forsake them so the devil tries hard to take them away from God by exposing them to bad situation with high hopes that they will soon become weak in spirit and will eventually become bad people..

Because, it is part of the learning process of life....and God knows that there is something from the situation that we need to learn.
By experiencing hardships and pain, I've learned a great deal....humility, patience, getting my priorities straight, etc.
I'm not a religious freak, or anything.....but, I have learned to trust Gods will. Even the painful things have their purpose.
We are in this world to learn to become better people and to prove ourselves worthy to be in heaven with Him. I firmly believe this.

Because the universe is unfair. Political softies refuse to eradicate criminals who seek to do the innocent harm. Evil people are allowed by divinity to walk the planet. No good deed goes unpunished. That about sums it up, without offending rabid church goers.
