Its kinda gross to think about it, but with all the tv and music influence like brittnys spears boobs and stuff, they market sex for the 10-12 yo range. Their bodies are maturing, 200 years ago they would be married off at that age, so yes some are having sex, mostly those with little parental supervision and discipline. I dont know what kind of sex ed is required, probably some basic stuff, probably not the same thing they teach in freshman highschool classes, but i dont know, we never had much in the way of that when i was in school, and i know that some kids were making out pretty heavy, and maybe a couple were having sex.

If there's sex in the middle school, call the cops.
OH! Sex Education! Well, yes.
The boys and girls have separate classes for the good stuff, so you won't be embarrassed. Compare what you learn with what you already know, and ask questions. This is your big chance to get a clear, complete, honest answer to things you wondered about. If there's something too embarrassing, you can ask the teacher in private about it.
Have fun!
(you may get out of it with parents' permission)

Is it required? Hmm...in my middle school it was. I think it's utterly rediculous to be teaching sixth graders things like "how to properly put a condom on" if you ask me. Check with the princepal, if you really want to know. It may not be required.
