We have a woman who lives with us, she's a friend of my parents, and has no where else to go. In her 50's, her kids deserted her, and she recently lost her youngest in a plane crash. She has health issues and cant work, so we just take care of her.

I know it sounds like a free loading situation, but its not like that. Theres more to it than the above, but it comes down to us providing for her, and her feeling really bad that she has no other alternative at this point. I mean, she feels so bad that she never comes out of her room. EVER. she's perfectly mobile, but she NEVER comes out. just to pee.

Anyway, she eats the WORST things.... like, for a few weeks she might just eat avacados, or just lettuce, or just roasted chickens. Literally tahts all she'll eat, all day.

She eats garlic powder and onion powder on EVERYTHING, and usually its not that big of a deal, but lately, for a week at a time, she'll do stints of canned salmon on lettuce and DRENCHED in garlic and onion powder.

I asked for clothes this Christmas, and I opened all my presents yesterday because my mom was leaving to visit my grandma today. I made a SPECIFIC list of things I wanted and where to get them and I gave it to my Mom. I wanted most of it from Limited Too, and 3 things from Aeropostale. I didn't want ANYTHING from Old Navy because thats where I always have to get things. I ended up getting 2 things from limited too 3 things from Old Navy and 3 things from Aeropostale. In all i got 2 of the things i asked for 1 of which is too big. I don't know what to do! Please help!

Does this mean you should unquestioning take on your parents beliefs, including such things as racial prejudice and xenophobia?

I mean, the 10 commandments are kind of wack.

Commandment #4 - Keep Holy the Lord's Day.
Again, is refraining from Sunday shopping one of the world's top ten sins? common, get serious.

Commandment #1 - I am the Lord your God. You Shall have no Other gods Before Me.
A recipe for religious intolerance and violence.

I need to give a talk, kind of like a sermon on Disappointment at my high schools Christian club and I wanted to know what I should cover, I wanted to say about how we disappoint ourselves, how we disappoint others and how others disappoint us, how we disappoint god and how god might disappoint us.... and I just need to know if theres anything else I should talk about and what to say because.... public speaking.... not my thing.

At least they have taken a decided stand and He can work on them from there. It is the Christians who are lukewarm and wish-washy that God has the most trouble with. Revelation 3:15-17

Can I just clear this one up, because my parents were a bit ambiguous about the whole thing - there isn't a jolly fat man who delivers gifts to all the children of the world on Christmas eve is there? It defies science, but I want to be sure.

How do you do this? I am challenging myself to do this, but it is hard and I am looking for examples/advice. Right now, what I am challenging myself to do is to imagine myself stepped outside my own body, standing as a soul beside Jesus' light, and ask myself if my thoughts or decisions about a person would be thoughts and decisions Jesus would have. It's painful because I keep questioning WHY I feel dislike for some people (mainly those who are rude, greedy, selfish, or have hurt me) and I can't always discern an answer, I just don't like them.

In order to become more enlightened, how does one strip away this handicap and just love regardless of how it is received? How do we do this?

Scientists come up with a theory and then they try to prove that theory. So did Darwin ever find any major scientific proof of evolution. How do we know that the finches that had their beeks grow because of a draught, and they needed to be able to crack larger nuts and get them into deeper, larger areas, aren't the work of God. The bible says that a thousand of our days is like one day to God. So how do we know that when God created the earth, it took alot longer than a 6 day week. We dont know. But if scientists would find the truth first and then back it up with facts, instead of creating a theory and trying to back it up with facts, I think our society would be alot further along. Tell me what you guys think. About the THEORY of evolution, and Darwin, and all this coming about in just the past century.
