In Islam women can't lead a prayer of mixed people (men and women) but women can lead other women. Women can give speeches on Islam and be used as spritual guidance though. They can be teachers (most of them are at our mosque) but the actual Imam (Muslim "priest") has to be a man. I don't think it is sexist or anything; there are actually reasons behind it that sound fair enough. Most women don't feel discriminated against (at least not in my community). The Bible should follow what it says if they really want to defend it as "truth" Peace.

Qualifications? Where in there does it say that? I guess men who molest little boys in secret are okay then? This day in time I don't see why such issues are even still debatable. It's ridiculous. Was the Virgin Mary not a woman? She is one of the most instrumental figures in the Bible not to mention the countless others that are mentioned in both the old and new testaments. Personally, I think that the Bible has been polluted by those men who have translated, rewritten, and omitted portions of sacred texts to give themselves the power and glory. Not for the Lord's benefit but their own.

Women are allowed to be pastors/bishops. When Jesus left the Earth he said for all to spread the gospel. What does a pastor do? Spread the gospel. What did he mean by all? Women and men.

Women have just the same rights as a man to be in a position such as a pastor.

If the person is homosexual and wishes to be a pastor, that is wrong. Homosexuality is a sin.

I do feel that woman today age should teach people to come to know Christ. This kind of bashing woman brings certain woman and unbelievers not to be a Christian nor read the Bible. I have this issue in the house that my husband and I live in. It's my father in law's house (his fathers house) He believes in no woman preachers or pastors and gives me a hard time about Joyce Mayer. I know Joyce Meyer is conterversial however, she helps me with my emotions and depression. All that the Bible speaks about woman shouldn't be preachers and have to wear dresses to church and other things thats for control of woman. Nowadays woman has rights to do whatever they want and please. I am a woman that wants to get into ministry but right now I can't because of my KJV Only Father in law that follows that Bible from left and right.

Because just like in a lot of other areas, people in the church are being led by what today's secular humanistic society has to say about the roles that people play, whether it be in marriage or combat or anywhere else including the church. It's a symptom of people bowing down to the wisdom of mankind and departing from the truth of God :o(

1 Peter 1:24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: (25) But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

thank you for pointing it out, quite by accident, but you are literally pointing out how some scripture is relevant, and others are not, and we as humans somehow know which is which.

1 Timothy 2:11-12 – "11 A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent." (irrelevant to today's church)

Romans 1:25-27 "26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion." (relevant to today's church)

now how? how can we know that women no longer have to be submissive, but gays still have no rights? curious cherry picking of the bible, i'd say. read further in Romans 1...

"28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them."

sounds like he's talking about MORE than just queers here too... but no one ever reads that. I hope you always did what your parents said, cuz you're no better than the gays if you didn't. hey, i didn't author this scripture, just quoting it.

They are being guided by cultural morals and freaking out what the media thinks of them so they change the rules instead of obeying Gods' commands.
Morals and faith don't change even when a few bullies insist that its all modern ie, different now.
They said the same thing in the 20s & 30s and then again in the 60s and 70s .. a small percentage gets into immorality, drugs and people shooting at each other and they think they are doing something new.
The difference is they are supported by the media instead of being told they are messing up.

There are many women who are prophetesses in the bible and who teach God's word according to the old testament. The women who were forbidden to speak in a church were those women belonging to the pagan church Paul was speaking to at the time. It was run by women and revered women and Paul was telling those particular women to be quiet so the men would be able to be heard and to hear over them. He sent them to the outside of the church and told them to allow their husbands to tell them what had been said. But that only applied to that circumstance.

They probably read the Bible; The book of Judges, and found women who God had appointed as leaders of the Church and even the Political tribes. Only in 325 AD did churches start putting only men in charge of the Christian Faith.

Regular Bubba preachers are male chauvinist idiots - so to say.

Not all Christians take a literalist approach to the Biblical witness.

In the early church, only men could be presbyters and bishops because the early church existed in a patriarchal social milieu. 2000 years of Gospel leaven have gotten us to the point where we understand that there are no reasons not to listen to the Spirit when he calls women to those offices.

The Spirit is still here, and God is still speaking.
