The two parliamentarians from the small "Rose in the Fist" party said their gesture was to promote the legalization of gay marriage and granting legal recognition to unmarried couples.

Bruno Mellano and Donatella Poretti placed the Barbie and Ken-type dolls in the parliamentary nativity scene, each couple lying down embraced among the shepherds witnessing the birth of Jesus.

Each of the two doll couples, which parliamentary ushers removed after a few minutes, wore miniature placards with slogans in favor of gay rights.

"This is a vulgar and unacceptable double attack against both a (national) institution as well as a religious symbol," a group of women parliamentarians of the opposition conservative Forza Italia party said in a statement.

Luca Volonte, a member of the small centrist opposition Union of Christian Democrats, called the gesture a "pure attack against the religion practiced by the majority of Italians."

Italy is overwhelmingly Roman Catholic and nativity scenes, featuring figures of the baby Jesus, Mary, Joseph, shepherds, animals and three kings bearing gifts, are put but in many homes, squares and shops.

Some members of the opposition demanded the lawmakers be censured by the speaker of the lower house of parliament.

But even the Italian Communist Party, which supports gay rights and is also in the ruling coalition of Prime Minister Romano Prodi, distanced itself from the action.

One communist parliamentarian called it "a grave political error" that would not help homosexuals.

The two leftist politicians carried out their gesture just before Pope Benedict, speaking to pilgrims and tourists at the Vatican, said Christmas creches were part of Christian culture that had to be defended.

In recent weeks, several state schools have decided not to erect the nativity scene. Some shops decided not to sell them, saying they were not popular or did not fit their image.

But even Education Minister Giuseppe Fioroni has criticized such schools, saying they had gone too far in banning nativity scenes which could instead be used as tools for inter-religious dialogue.

I've met people who feel their minister is a prophet or that people they know can hear directly from G-d what He is saying. If this is so, why would it be improper to save up their sayings in a note book and add it to the Bible; or why would you need a record of the prophecies of Jeremiah, if there are prophets of the same caliber instructing you today? (Not an insult question, BTW, a genuine one.)

The Church would be Protestant. It would focus on practical Biblical application.Topics in the Holy Bible would addressed. In addition, I would have a bibliography of important books and articles to be discussed. Some of these would include: Allen, Charles, "God's Psychiatry"; Kushner, Harold, "When Bad Things Happen to Good People"; Meyers, Joyce, "Battlefield of the Mind"; Peale, Norman Vincent, "Power of Positive Thinking," and recent magazine articles would be included.

I have a Ph.D. in history from Auburn University and M.A. in history from West Georgia College. My study included religious history, such as with the Reformation and U.S. religion. Am a saved Christian and minister, who currently preaches at a nursing home and prison.Could an internet ministry be of merit? Its goal would be to simplify the Bible and uplift the Lord .Want to reach enough people to make it worthwhile, but not large. Suggestions about establishing and developing it appreciated, Rev. Dr. Glen

A guy friend said this to me last night on MSN because he had been being a jerk lately, but the next day he hardly replied to me (on MSN) and signed out without saying bye.
This is what he said:
him: u take me the rong way then
me:maybe i do
him:i think so
cuz i thort u were nice
me:u think i'm nice.....oh right.......that's y yur mean to me
him:im not thats just it if i am i dont mean 2 be and im sorry if i was

How sincere does that sound? ^^
And why is e beng so mean one day after saying this?

I don't know, but do you think maybe he only apologized because I told him that some people at school were making fun of him (and he wanted to find out who it was)? Do you think maybe he only 'pologized so I'd tell him who ws backbiting about him?

He's a sophomore, I'm a freshman. (High School)

P.S. He didn't flat out apologize. I first had to explain to him what he had done.

Several times I read some answers saying how Islam is growing so fast with 200,000 conversions in the US each year. Yet the Seventh day adventist and Mormon churches get about 1,000,000+ conversions per year.
Could it be that religion has become a popularity contest? Why...
Most importantly, are people NOT getting tired of religions rubbing their "conversion rate" statistics in their faces with the "1 million people can't be wrong" mentality?
What do you think...
