Im an ANIMAL!
We pass out the gifts and then we all rip 'em open at the same time and show off our gifts after the paper stops flying

I open them slowly and try not to rip the paper - if the person is standing there watching! I think I don't want to disrespect them or something stupid!
Seems silly being so careful though,
I wish I was a ripper.
Maybe I'll start this XMAS!!!!!!!

I usually open mine slowly because I'm busy watching the other people open thier presents. I'm one of those wierd people that likes giving better than recieving, but it is really fun to just tear into one every once in a while.

if i've guessed what the present is i rip it open, but if i don't know what it could be i open it slowly just so the intrigue continues longer, nothing to do with the wrapping paper really lol!

Rip them open. Not necessarily like an animal, but certainly not slow enough to recycle the paper.

I politely thank the person for doing such a wonderful job wrapping the present, then I tear into it. If I was planning on saving the paper, I might be more careful.

it all depends on the situation. I like watching the others open theirs as I want to see their reaction. once they see what the gift inside one can tell if they are happy with it or not - no matter what they speak. savoring the moment makes it last longer especially if there are few gifts. this year I will be by myself so will open my gifts slowly so as to make the anticipation last longer. won't take long to unwrap 5 gifts.
