Cute. In Jewish Talmudic tradition, the soul hangs around the body for three days, until it sees that the composure of the face has changed.
If Jesus had resurrected Lazarus in under three days, there might have been some dispute, but since he waited four days, they knew for sure Lazarus was dead and decomposing.
The BIBLE itself provides the answer. Jesus said in John 11, “Lazarus has died, and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe." You'll also note that in John 12, the priests wanted to kill Lazarus because of this little miracle.
Dead people don't come back to life, unless by supernatural means. Jesus has power over death.

I don't think Lazarus would have been in Heaven at that time...he just would have been dead. There were possibly a few rather spectacular exceptions, but in general, before Jesus went and took the dead out of their prison, they pretty much just stayed dead.
Jesus wept because of His great compassion on Lazarus' family.
But that isn't why He raised Lazarus.
He did that to show God's power over life and death.
And boy, did it piss the Jews of that time off!!

Jesus resurrected Lazarus in order to prove that he was the son of God. It is written in the bible that Lazarus died at a later time. When Lazarus was resurrected heaven was still closed because Jesus had not died and gone there to sit at the right hand side of his Father.

Yes Heaven is wonderful and Lazarus would have rejoiced. However the reason Jesus rose him from the dead was to show that He is resurrection and the life. He did not make it back to his house in time to heal, however, Jesus is always there at the right time. It was to show Martha and Mary and others that HE IS LIFE and GIVES LIFE.

Jesus waited deliberately 4 days before He came to Lazarus's tomb. By this time Lazarus's body was starting to decay and smelled horribly.
Even when Jesus seems to come late in our eyes, Jesus is always on time. The purpose for Jesus being late was when so many people knew that he was definately dead. So dead that his body starated to rot away and smell. For Jesus to bring Lazarus back to life the way He did, showed the masses of people who were witness to this miracle that He was infact the son of God.
In no way could He be accused of performing "magic' It was a miracle and they all new it. I wouldn't worry about Lazarus, for he is very happy in heaven with Jesus who used him as an incredible example of the power of God. Praise the Lord!!

That proves God is telling everyone the truth. The dead knows nothing and that they don't have soul surviving death and goes somewhere else. The only hope for everlasting life is by coming to an accurate knonledge of the truth (the Bible). (Ecclesiates 9:5,6)
And yes, man can live forever once God swallow up death and brings us back to a perfect states of life like Adam and Eve before they sin against God. Remember God made perfect man to live down here on Earth. If he wants us to have immortal soul, then he would have made all of us angel instead of human. Don't you agree? But the Bible does talk about 144,000 humans were bought from the earth to have immortal soul and are going to rule with Jesus as Kings and Priests for the thousand years before Jesus complete everything and then turn back the Kingdom to his Father God Almighty.

Jesus knew Lazarus had died but wanted to raise him so that people would believe.
Jn 11:41 So they took away the stone. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me.
Jn 11:42 I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”

That's because Lazarus was not in heaven, but as Jesus said he was asleep in death. His resurrecting him, was a foreshadow of what he will do during his 1000 year reign for the millions now dead asleep in the grave.

The Bible clearly does not teach that people have immortal souls. The Bible teaches rather that people while alive ARE souls. Once dead they are just non-existant. The only way out of it is to be resurrected to life by the almighty either to a physical life or for a chosen few, a spiritual life to rule in heaven with Christ.

It was a ceremonial "bringing back to life" of a person who was a member of the Nasorean Sect. This person strayed from the teachings and was considered spiritually dead by the Nasoreans until he served a period of penetence and then was "brought back to life" or brought back into the fold. There was no physical death involved.
See, Jesus wasn't born in the Town of Nazareth because it didn't exist at the time of his birth. Rather Jesus was a member of the Nasorean Sect of Hebrews.
