Tithing is demonstrated in the Bible. We are told by God in Malachi Chapter 3 to "bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse (the church)......." God siad He would bless those who are faithful...He called those who neglected thieves.

If this is what your priest did, he was merely carrying out the instructions of our Heavenly Father.

I understand there are some occasions where a different kind of money gathering is done and I do not condone that.

This is the New Testament command on giving (supporting the church), no other means of financial support (bingo, car washes, etc) is authorized by the Bible. (Bear in mind that we are NOT living under the commandments of the Old Testament)

"Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come." 1 Corinthians 16:2

that's all priests are, just power hungry, money grubbing peoples.

no, I'm kidding. I've actually been to a church where they have pamphlets of where the money is going to, like for homeless, and starving kids and missionaries and stuff, so you know where your money is going.

I thought that was pretty neat, considering that the cult I was in, they just took all your money, and you never knew what it was for and why.
blessed be
