How do we define friendship? How do we aim to prevent our selves from being disappointed or getting hurt especially if you keep getting it wrong?

A spiritualist/meditator answered this question by saying that when you meet someone that has potential of being a friend, then you ask yourself these questions:

Can this person be a friend;
An acquaintance;
A contact;
Someone you say hello and good bye to;
or someone you walk past if you see them again?

Your instinct should be able to tell which category the potential friend fits into. What you do you think? How do you decide?

Been roped into dressing up as santa for my kids nursery, trouble is i'm short of santa claus cliche's, i know Ho Ho Ho and merry christmas but what else would a kid expect from santa? Without getting libellous , lol, wouldn't want other parents saying "what did he say", help much appreciated, and it's for the kiddies.

I was just answering someone else's question and thought of this one. I've always wanted to know how people who are atheists or don't believe in God or life after death cope with death and dying? Especially when a loved one dies?

For me, when I lost loved ones who I knew loved Jesus and were headed to heaven, it made such a difference knowing that death is not a wall but a door and that they had just walked through it ahead of me... knowing I'd see them one day in heaven and having that confidence made the difference. Otherwise, I think I would have drowned in despair and loss.

Thoughts?

Lets say you bestest friend walked up to one day and said God came down and spoke to them. They described it as lets say a burning bush? You'd think your best friend has went totally INSANE! Get the straight jacket out

In the bible it states many times that many different prophets Claiming god spoke to them.
If you wouldnt believe your best friend then why believe a person that you NEVER knew, lived over 2000years ago and on the other side of the planet?
I think they were all drunk from all the wine

My bestfriend of 14 yrs has never been with a man sexually. (she's 24.) She has never been with a woman either. She was molested repeatedly by a family "friend" when she was 9, and has been scared of sex ever since. About 2 hrs ago she asked me (thru a text message) if i would help her get a little more comfortable sexually. I told her i would call her later to talk 2 her about it. What do u think she means?? I've never even looked at her that way! Yes, i am a lesbian but she's my bestfriend and i would never ruin our friendshp with sex. Is the fact that she's never attempted to be sexual & now wants to try 1st with a woman, is this is a side effect from her molestation?

Headstart is a government funded program that is losing more and more funds each year. They provide services to families that can't afford the services of a private preschool. This is such a great program, it puts our children to a greater advantage for learning, and it helps to be sure that they have a more prosperous life through an early education. They also provide speech and occupations services as well as a variety of resources for children with special needs due to developmental probelms etc. My son is a student through Headstart, and they have done miracles with him. He is so intelligent and is going to be ahead of the class. You may not use these services, but someday a grandchild, daughter/son, sibling, cousin etc may need them. They can always use toys, crafty things, books, dress up clothes, any sort of learning material that may be age appropriate. Headstart is a national program and can be found in the phone book. Please help this wonderful cause.

I believe in God, but I just don't understand how any human being with common sense and understanding can POSSIBLY take those guys seriously. I mean, why do you buy into it? Can't people see that they are just after peoples money and want the power of celebrity? They are just hiding behind God and taking advantage of people's faith. Why can't those people see that! There is nothing in the bible that says "you must fund that guys 4 merecedes, private plane, mansion, and expesive coke habit so he can spread the word of God." It makes me sick.

Please tell me why people buy into Evangelists? Is there something I'm not quite getting?

Can anyone tell me why people feel the need to say that they don't "do" something that really dosn't seem in context, for example someone said to me that they "don't do horror" or they "don't do jewellrey"

Here it goes,a couplle off years ago, one day i started making these satanic jokes like every day,and slowly i became possesd, my mind the moust was full with evil disgusting thoughts,i started macking the hourns off satan with my hands,my hands just made them but i had no councious i was making them, and i started having thes voices in my head that said things like these: yes i will take evryone to hell, yes you`r all mine when you die, and many more,i even had these thoughts about me,but thank god i`m on on the flouthing line now, and i`m starting to get my life in track, what i have seen was that these thoughts came and then then they reached my hearth and i startted breathing really hard, but i fought them with prayer off mind, and hope, and paitience. just wanted to share my story, btw: this is not a joke.

God does amazing things in my life. I've been healed of various illnesses, gotten jobs, been blessed by wealth, seen marriages on the bring of divorce restored, witnessed people who are suicidal from drug and/or alcohol abuse turn their lives around and much more! What's your story?
