Lets say you bestest friend walked up to one day and said God came down and spoke to them. They described it as lets say a burning bush? You'd think your best friend has went totally INSANE! Get the straight jacket out

In the bible it states many times that many different prophets Claiming god spoke to them.
If you wouldnt believe your best friend then why believe a person that you NEVER knew, lived over 2000years ago and on the other side of the planet?
I think they were all drunk from all the wine

If you cannot believe whom you consider as your very best of friends, then what's the point of making him or her a friend? It's pointless. You do not trust him or her and you think he or she is a liar. You might as well drop him or her off from you list of so called best of friends. But of course there will be repercussions. No one will ever, ever trust in you or believe in you either --anymore, for that matter..
Regarding history? Do you believe Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan or Adolf Hitler, or even George Washington never existed then something must be wrong with your beliefs. You're just a self centered, empty-headed know it all who really know nothing about life or history.
You will end up alone, friendless and lonely, believing only in your egotistic self. People will stay away from you for your mind is very skeptic and very shallow.

If my friend hears a physical voice I might wonder but God speaks to people in many ways everyday.

Well, it would depend on whether or not I'd had my ergot for the day.

Politicians make pronouncements just as hard to believe and there seems no shortage of faithful to lap it up.

I would believe them if what they said compliments with the Bible, if not it could have been a familiar spirit (demon) talking to them without them realizing it.

The Bible says the devil can appear as an angel of light!

Burning bushes? hmmm, yes, a little weird. I'd tell them to lay off the hard liquor and go back to beer.
