It's true... everyone will always proclaim what they believe as the ultimate truth and the ultimate answer to everything. They never question themselves because they already 'KNOW' the truth.

For example..

The atheist says 'There is no God'. He doesn't say 'I don't think there is a God'.. he says 'There is no God'. And that's final.

The Christian says 'There is one God, and He only accepts Christians into Heaven. You must be a believer in Christ otherwise He will not let you in there'

The Muslim says 'God is Allah, and He only accepts true-believers (Muslims) into Heaven... all infidels will perish'

Same thing with Jews, Catholics, Hindus... all across the board.

No-one ever comes along and says 'look I'll be honest, I'm only a human being, I don't totally understand everything about God and the Universe. Maybe God doesn't care what religion you are, He cares more about how you treat others and how you live your life' or anything.

So why is it like this?

Though I've defined myself as an Atheist for the past 6 or 7 years or so, I've recently come to declare myself an Agnostic, simply due to my inability to knowingly, concretely prove or refute the existence of God. And yes, I'm aware that there are, of course, many other religions beside Christianity that put stock into some sort of higher being(s), but Christians definitely seem to come under fire more often by Atheists.

But in all actuality, isn't the Atheistic position just as "ignorant" as Christianity, Islam, Judaism, or any other proponent of any religion that claims to have the answer? Who here can prove the existence or nonexistence of a higher power? Sure, someone could say that they find it highly improbable or illogical to believe in a higher power, and I would certainly be among them. But to completely refute the potential existence is operating on that same claim, just relying on a different form of faith.

My greek in laws are ever interferring. They didnt even show up for their only child's ( my hubby) wedding.
Besides they go to their church only on good fridays and I go to my catholic church . at least every sunday. I have tried to get along with them ever since I married their son but I feel so disrespected for them (in laws) to just assume the baby will be baptized as Greek Orthodox- I honestly wont have any problem with it if they were practicing their faith but I only see them go once a year n stand outside the church? waiting to light their candle n go home-is this what my son will do too ? Whereas I grew up raised and schooled as a Catholic although I knew my church has a lot of flaws.
Should I let them also decide to baptize the baby in the greek faith just becoz I'm scared he might have a heart attack and die ? My only fear is I might regret this if something actually happens to him- he is 74 y. o. & has hypertension but is otherwise ok. I need to hear from others

If I don't believe in the Bible, quoting me scriptures from the Bible is not going to convince me that I am wrong, as I don't believe in the Bible as the word of God.

How does he take out the life of an embryo in the womb of his mother? Does he reach it through any part of her body or the spirit responded to his call with the permission of God? Or does he stay with him in the mother's interior? How can he who is unable to describe a creature like this, describe God?

If the Bible was inspired by God, why would it contain so many fallacies in it. Why would God need to pass his word on through human beings. Why do we need to accept everything on faith, just because the Bible tells us to. I, for one, can no longer believe that the Bible is the word of God.

Does the bible not tell us that we are to work our our salvation with fear and trembling. Does the doctrine of security of the believer as presented by the baptist faith undermine the be holy part of Gods instructions. And thus lull people into a state eternal sin.

Does this really make sense to you? To me, it just doesn't add up. A God of love would not send people to eternal damnation. Could it be possible that hell was invented by some religions as a way of controlling the masses?

If all the world leaders, religous and non religous got together. They all started singing "what the world needs now is love sweet love". or "all we are saying, is give peace a chance" If they just all spontanously started singing.Do you think this would be a better world?

I, for one, have not seen too many acts of evil comitted by atheists. I have, however, seen much evil and atrocities comitted my people who claimed to be very religious and who beleived in a God.

I am gay and so spend a lot of time in the LGBT section where many religious people come to tell us about our sins and that we're going to hell. From what I can gather the 10 comandments don't say 'thou shalt not fornicate with same sex members' yet it does make a pretty clear statement about infidelity and sex before marriage. It's strange because in sections where people having affairs or sex out of wedlock are asking for advice there's a lack in religious presence telling them they are going to hell.

I love Jesus, But I do not know if I can consider him God. I do not go to Church. I took a couple of Classes on Christianity and found out the bible had many errors. That shaked my confidence in the bible. I believe in God, but I am not sure about the bible. I ask myself why when you pray you only say Jesus, you do not really say holy spirit this or God that. I am re-evaluating my beliefs. I love Jesus but how can you reconciliate all the confusion????

Why is it that so many silly people believe in demons? I have seen so many bullsh*t explanations of what demons are and do. People they DO NOT EXIST. You would be better off doing some worthwhile work for charity rather than explaining the habits of entities that exist only in the minds of simpletons. The only demonic influences in the world are governments!! and they are not supernatural!

My friend seems to be falling into...decay. Since her oldest daughter returned home her standards have really dived. They have a feral pig which someone caught hunting and it is sleeping in the bed with the girls. It poops in the bed even. They think this is cute. We think its gross. It is the law in australia that we kill feral animals, not make them pets, due to diseases etc. I have kept my mouth shut, but this really is horrible. This is an urban home, not a farm. Should I just say nothing?
