Why is it that so many silly people believe in demons? I have seen so many bullsh*t explanations of what demons are and do. People they DO NOT EXIST. You would be better off doing some worthwhile work for charity rather than explaining the habits of entities that exist only in the minds of simpletons. The only demonic influences in the world are governments!! and they are not supernatural!

Proof is of no importance to believers, they accept without any serious research.For many the brain is a tool for evaluating input and computing probability, fact from fiction, myth from reality. For others it is a receptacle for receiving data via emotion, wishful thinking, and gullible acceptance. Aided by social conditioning myths and legends become implanted, and alternatives ( logic, research, science etc, are shunned,and rejected in favour of belief. Myths feed the psyche of the believer, truth destroys myths, so alternative `truths` are adopted. The majority of bullshit (as you put it) comes from adherents of belief systems.

I don't necessarily believe in demons (although many humans tend to make monsters of themselves).
However, why would you conclude that demons do not exist?
Is it because you haven't seen a demon before? If so, then how can *anything* exist? After all, matter is made up of things we cannot see. Are we composed of nothing, then? Does gravity exist? It, too, cannot be seen. True, you can witness the *effects* of gravity, but so, too, can one argue on behalf of the effects/actions of "demons."
Of course, this reasoning is used by many to discount anything deemed "supernatural." In order to form a balanced opinion on the subject of the "supernatural," a more balanced question is needed.
What exactly is your argument/question, aside, of course, from "Why are people so stupid!!!?" In order to do so, though, you will need to clearly determine and state why, to you, demons do not exist.
On a side note, I like your comment on governments. Although there are some potentially "good" governments, the vast majority seem to bring out the worst in people.

Because they have been educated from a very early age in the lies and fantasies of religious maniacs, the trouble is now with this so called Labour government in power and especially the right wing rabid religious idiot Ruth Kelly as so called culture secretary this will get worse as more and more religion is forced down the throats of everyone, this woman is just slightly less dangerous to the world than Bush and Blair.

Law of averages here - most people aren't especially stupid or outstandingly clever - you get the dozy oes at teh extreme left and teh 'intelligentsia' at the other end.
Is stupidity foisted on people because of a society that aspires to be cradle to grave and takes most real decisions - other than to starve, go bust, remain poor and die early etc. - away from them?
Take all the important stuff away - i.e. so you feel you really don't control your life and of course you're going to believe in fairies, Area 51, Alien Abduction, that politicians lie (sorry, that shouldn't be there) - you get the drift.
My vote is with a stupid society - not stupid people.
Oh, and check out James Surowiecki "The Wisdom of Crowds" on Wikipedia. That gives the lie to the stupidity of most people.

One of the most effective deceptions of Satan is to try and get people to believe that he doesn't exist. It seems like you have let him fool you. As far as your comment about "the minds of simpletons" goes, Einstein believed in God. Was he a simpleton as well? Or are you just smarter than the 85% of Americans who believe in God? There are both simpletons and geniuses who believe in God (and demons, too). Why is everybody wrong but you? What are your credentials? In what field is your Degree? And what grade point average did you carry?

Demons are a primitive way of explaining why people do bad things. Unfortunately a bit of the primitive lives on in all of us and some people are more primitive than others.
