Let's assume we encounter a race of silicon based octopoids with IQ's in the thousands, with technology so vastly superior to our own it would apear like magic to us. Should we consider such beings "Gods"?

Just a friendly chat/question. I am jewish, and believe that our messiah will come in due time. Could be anyone, but we don't know. I also believe that you don't have to be jewish to get into heaven/the world to come, and that it's based more on actions. The reason i am asking is because i find religion to be an interesting topic, and want to have a topic where there is no "ZOMG U'R GUNNA BURN IN HELLZ" type of comment, though unfortunately it is a bit unrealistic.

NO drama or hate of any kind. If i see ANY of it, then i WILL remove it and report you

Do you think anyone thought to themself...
"There's something REALLY WRONG with that guy!"?

Anna Nicole Smith married a man several decades older than her, but at least she had gone through PUBERTY first.

What do you think would happen to anyone who spoke critically about Mohammad's marriage to a 6 year old girl?
Beheading? Stoned to death? Hands and feet cut off?
What is an appropriate punishment for those who oppose the actions of Mohammad?

Hi, some "Odd" things have been happening at my work recently. Although I am religious, I am a bit skeptical when it comes to people claiming "ghosts haunt buildings". Im wondering how I can reserach the history of our building. Any websites I can visit. Thanks for your help. AZ.

At school we were told that the ultimate function and purpose of the monarchy was to prevent some petty little political upstart or would-be dictator from seizing power. History shows this to be a largely ineffectual safeguard - witness the ease with which that bunch of self-confessed crooks and accomplished halfwits who run the EU have taken over 'Great' Britain, without the slightest sign of action by the queen to prevent it!

After many years of research, i have finally found the reason as to why Christians have discarded all sorts of knowledge and science.

They have never truly advanced until the Church lost control and the scientific community rid itself from Christianity.

I am really looking forward the the soon return of Jesus. Like I said to somebody the other day, only a dead and dying person loves this dead and dying word. I feel Jesus will be returning very soon although I do not know when, I had a strong feeling the other day that it will be in this generation.Christians do you like me feel this world is very empty and unfulfiling? I do and I have my focus on the Heavenly things, not of the world where there is so much unbelive, murder, wars, famines, hatred, violence, percecution ect. So christians do you have your heart on what is unseen, because as you know what is unseen is eternal, and what is seen will all pass away.

It seems like every time people point at the brutal acts being committed by the followers of the religion which apporoves violence towards "non-believers", someone pops out of the peanut gallery and points at the acts of Christians which happened decades or even centuries ago.

Why can't people focus on the here and now instead of cowardly using diversionary tactics to avoid addressing the issue at hand?
