Let's assume we encounter a race of silicon based octopoids with IQ's in the thousands, with technology so vastly superior to our own it would apear like magic to us. Should we consider such beings "Gods"?

That is "gods" with a lower case "g."

The word "gods" is in the Bible as people who are of God because of the appearance to those outside of that relationship.
