i'm getting into massive debt from student loans, and when i am qualified i will be helping the public and paying my taxes! yet i feel there is real prejudice against us! is it jealousy from people who don't have a good education, or what?

remember the doctor who saves you or your loved one's life, the dentist who saves your teeth, the vet who saves your pet and the scientists who discover cures for diseases were all students once!

Take pride in everything you do! Don't you realize that you look foolish when you don't know how to communicate?

Dont use the "I was typing too fast" excuse. THERE IS NO EXCUSE!!!

I currently live in New York and in the past i lived in Mumbai, Cairo, Vienna, London, Dubai, Prague, Moscow, Tunis, Pyongyang, Seoul, Dhaka, Tokyo, New Delhi, Stockholm, Dublin, Belfast, Amsterdam, Kandy, Berlin, Bangkok, Manila, Melbourne, Johannesburg, Ivory Coast, Rio de Janiero, Lima, Bogota, Kingston, Alberta, Riyadh, Dar el Salam, Ankara, Islamabad, Milan, Athens, Barcelona, Lisbon, Paris, Manama. And in all these places i lived in i had to be in the Fat Parade. This was not just a fat parade it was a fat parade with different divisions of obeseness. It goes from Div. A- G. A is 150- 200 Ibs and so on by 50. Sadly i was in Divsion G but i got disqualified for exceeding the weight being merely 750 Ibs. I'm an ex sumo who has gained weight byt has shrank due to the massive load on my spine. The next parade is on august 2nd. WHAT SHOULD I DO? I LIKE NEW YORK! GO RED SOX!!!

People usually use the word "sadity" when they are describing someone as arrogant or if someone is treating them in a condescending manner. Is this the correct spelling and meaning? Where did it come from?

I don't see why all of you must hurt others. You say that you are Christian and so you walk the path of god, and try to be like Jesus. But was not Jesus merciful? Would he verbally abuse those who are following and staying true to their beliefs? Do you think that God would turn his back on his children because of someones beleifs whether they are true or not? If no- what gives you the right.
I know and understand there will always be debate about the subject religion. But all you who write lengthy reports and such- why? Could not you be using your time to practice your own belief instead of shunning others... In the time you wrote that letter you could have done many a glorious thing. Why can't you realize that we're all in this together! A battle aganist Satan himself!
In a war, would you say "No you can not fight, you have red hair. Only brown haired people are allowed to fight in this war."
No same with Mormons. Let us believe as we let you - IN PEACE!
God Bless!

Why is it ok to show a film that has murder and violence but as soon as you see a naked person, people phone up to complain?
Surely, the human body or even sexual intercourse is a much nicer and natural thing. I mean, would you rather have a shag or be murdered?

sri lanka, thailand, vietnam, and i have been to all these so called buddhist countries and seen the Brutality occuring. Death squads , inhumanity in prisons, kidnappings (happens all over the 3rd world) . but before i travelled to these lands i thought that Buddhism at least makes these countries somewhat kind, but i was proven wrong.
A buddhist will save an animal from death but he will not hesitate to plunge a knife in to a human being whom he dislikes.
howcome peaceful buddhism has never made these countries peaceful?

The most attractive thing in Vaishali, the capital city of Lichhavis, was the beautiful dancer Amrapali. She was named after the mango grove she was first found in. Everybody was eager to win her love. She chose to be the Nagarvadhu, wife to the whole city.

One day, Amrapali saw a young monk. Mesmerised by his calm and attractive presence, she followed him. The sanyasi settled down beneath a mango tree, unmindful of her presence. Unable to attract his attention, she spoke: “Sir, please introduce yourself. Why do you lead an ascetic life in your youth?”

“In search of Truth”, replied the monk. Amrapali was first taken aback. She then teased him: “Of what use is the Truth that wastes your youth?” The monk smiled: “Lady, Absolute Happiness can only be attained thus for the happiness you seek is transitory pleasure”.

Amrapali persisted. “Dear, leave this delusion and enjoy my hospitality which even royalty desires to experience”, offered Amrapali. The monk thought for a moment and said, “I will ask my master. If he allows me, I will come”. Then he took out a ripe Amra Phal (mango) from his bag and gave it to her with the instruction that the fruit be preserved without decay till his return.

The monk returned to Buddha’s shelter and narrated the incident. Buddha gave him permission to stay with Amrapali, much to the puzzlement of other disciples. Buddha calmly said, “I have looked into his eyes — there was no desire. If I had said ‘no’, even then he would have obliged. I trust his meditation”.

In the meantime, Amrapali tried all methods to keep the mango fresh, but failed. After one month, the young monk returned. Passionately infatuated, she approached him. The monk ordered, “Lady! Bring me the Amra Phal”. She did so; but the mango had decayed, emitting foul odour and was full of worms.

She asked, “Dear, of what use is this rotten fruit to you?” The monk slowly removed the mango-stone from the fruit. Showing her the rotten skin, he spoke, “Where has the beauty, aroma and taste of the fruit gone? Whereas, the mango-stone is intact and free of decay”. “Of what use is this mango-stone”, argued the courtesan.

The monk smilingly explained, “The mangostone is the most useful. As a seed, it has the potential to regenerate a new body. Likewise, a human being’s meditation is never wasted. This mango-stone signifies the eternal Soul. The protection of the Soul is the real shield; that is the absolute Happiness. Recognise this Truth, Amrapali. You, who could not save the decay of this Amra Phal, how long can you protect your own body from disintegration?”

The Nagarvadhu was speechless; it was as if she had been awakened from a deep sleep. Moved, she asked forgiveness of the young monk. She felt cleansed and expressed her desire to see the monk’s master.

Later, Buddha visited Vaishali and stayed at Amrapali’s abode. She touched Buddha’s feet and said, “I tried my best to attract your monk, but he convinced me by his awareness that real life is in your shelter”. She renunciated the life of a courtesan and donated her belongings to the Buddhist Sangha.

Buddha accepted her in the monastery as a disciple, to the chant of “Sangham sharanam gachhami, Dhammam sharanam gachhami”.

Some time ago i asked a question about abortions, and some girl got pretty heated about it. She made it clear she was pro choice, but what tripped me out was what she said next. She said that it is not murder to have an abortion because the baby isn't born yet. She then said that i should be lucky my mom didn't use her freedom of choice to murder me in the womb, does that make sense to anyone?
