When I was about 10 years old I had blood poisoning and was close to death even though I didn't feel anything or even know how close I was until after I was better. The scratch on my knee got infected and there was this red line under my skin that traveled up my leg and was headed for my heart. The infection was about 2 days away from reaching my heart but they cleared it up somehow before it got there.

when i was 10, i lost control of my 3-wheeler and went off the side of a mountain. luckily i was able to turn it over just feet from a hundred foot drop. there's no way i would have survived if i went over the edge. i landed face flat in poison ivy and i sprained my wrist. that was the last time i ever rode a 3-wheeler (but i will ride 4-wheelers)

I had a serious operation many years ago and my heart stopped beating. I can't tell you exactly what I remember, but I have been so grateful to be alive ever since then.

I nearly got run over by a car when I was cycling one day. Does that count?
