Well, first of all I would like to mention that slaves(or servants) in Israel were not suppose to be mistreated. It seems many have a problem with the fact that slaves/servants were sold. My response to this is this:

Don't people of this generation sell people?

They do! Football players are sold, models are sold, security agents are sold and many more. Not only so, they sell them also to worst things...they sell them at young ages to be models and music artists to masters who would abuse them sexually and emotionally...no wonder they end up in drugs!

Now the slaves of the bible times of ISRAEL, (not all nations) were sold and were suppose to be well taken care of.

Now let us look at God's view of slavery or servanthood:

How do we know that God wanted slaves/servants to be taken care of?

Exodus 21:5-6

"But if the slave plainly says, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free,..."

What do you guys think?

I think it is terrible I was at home recovering from illness when I saw the news report. It terrified me to think that someone who was born in Britain could do something like this. This makes terrorism more scary as people who live next door to you could be terrorists.

If i were a satanist would they respect my religious view? I would give a muslim due respect in person if he repects me too. That does not mean i should respect their religious views. One muslim here told me he doesn't like the idea of 72 virgins either but i should not disrepect his religious views. If you don't like it get it changed or get out. Why should i believe that? I'm a satanist would you respect my god and religious views? Respecting a person and valuing human life is a different issue!

Without resorting to authorities such as written texts, sentimentality (i.e. because it makes us feel good) or popular opinion can anyone provide a logical reason to believe in god that will hold up under the principle of Occam's Razor? That is, without inferring complicated belief systems from simple phenomena.

How can atheists "toss aside" the many fulfilled prophecies in the Bible, which point to God's authorship?
The Bible is full of prophecies about Jesus' ministry, the fulfillment of God's promises and even the fulfillment of historical events. Only God could predict the future and guide history. Man can not even properly predict what will happen next month or next year. How can atheists ignore this?

He gives not one concrete example. Could somebody be kind enough to maake a detailed list of prophecies with quotations and then how exactly they have been fulfilled.

Apparently there should be quite a lot.

I am especially interested in those which have been fulfilled since the final writing of the bible and today.

like this is STATE TERRORISM!!... they'r killin thousands of palestenians each year... n nobody says a word!!!!! the UN is silent abt it!!!
what i want to ask is that is this allowed in judaism???
like i read in a book that jews r allowed to kill, rape,rob,cheat everybody else except a jew!!!!!!
cuz they believe that they r the CHOSEN ONES... n all of the rest of the ppl r dirt!!!!

I say no, and here's why:

If the church was taxed, small community churches would most likely have to close up due to financial hardship.

The mega churches (I call them big-box churches) would spread across the US like walmart did, financed by private institutions and faith based initiative dollars.

What you'd have left is a highly commercial and tightly controlled Fundamentalist Church of the US that would have deep political ties.

The other night, I went out to a dance club, one that does disco. I was dressed in a white leisure suit to fit the part. Anyways, I'm there amongst a crowd of people, doing my thing on the dance floor. Someone yells, "GET DOWN!". So, I lay down on the floor. For 20 yrs the police have been causing me the problems I am subject to today. I was raped by a black & they did nothing , assulted & they did nothing... i realized that it ws all connected to the first screwup of THEIRS, not investigating the RAPE/ATTEMPTED MURDER 20 years ago, I realized that I had been MADE a VICTIUM -justice being HUGELY SOCIAL. It got so bad that even my white babys were stollen in court with lies! I've been harrassed out of every job, STALKED by the grossest men,...on the planet, they even misdiagnosed me & had me OD on meds starting at 35 years old to deprive me of a special time for a woman (sexually)! When i finally managed to get a car that was 1/2 way decient they put sand in the engine & gas tank, then they stole the bike i was forced to fall back on on the 4th of july & the cops do NOTHING to help & NEVER have. Initally believing in the Am. justice system & then having the ABUSE of it ruin my life has made me doubt the greatness of...I live in HELL!

I don't understand why "Athiests" are using the religion section of answer's when they don't believe in religion. Atheist's talk and talk about not having christian beliefs shoved down their throats yet they post questions and answers and bad mouth and slam religion. If they what christians to leave them alone with their beliefs then why can't they do the same? Practice what you preach (or what you say...for the Atheists that will give thier opinion)
