German is also spoken among the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish in much of the New World and there are German communities throughout much of Europe. Italy has a German-speaking area, and I would guess that German-speakers can be found in countries that neighbour Germany and Austria.
Yiddish is still an important language in Israel and New York.
