Pray and vote.

The foundation hasn't changed. The people who started this country didn't want a national religion forced upon them and it's still a good idea. We don't want to be like the middle east where people will kill you for saying the wrong thing about their religion.
Your beliefs are personal and should be kept to yourself if no one expresses an interest in them.
God bless America.
Please stop trying to ammend the constitution to discriminate against gays and flag burners. It's anti American.

The US wasn't founded on god. You truly think the creator would approve of the death and destruction the colonists brought to the ones nature had given this land to? Then they started a war and more death and destruction when none of their loved ones lives were at risk from the British soldiers, and then only gave white males any freedom and the right to vote? How "Christian" of them. Not!

This land was really blessed by our creator but then the Christians showed up. It was not founded on christians principles either. Read below.

Are you suggesting that the Founders intended for the USA to be a theocracy? For instance, there is the so-called issue of 'same sex marriage'. The Unity Church in my town blesses gay unions; the Baptist Church does not. Are you suggesting that our government get involved and tell these churches what exactly God's will is in this matter? Sorry dude, but I think is exactly what the Founders wanted to AVOID. We have freedom of religion only if the government does NOT get involved in church matters. Involvement = interference.

One of the primary items our country is founded on is freedom of religion. It is the main reason people came to this country in the first place. The quakers and pilgrims wanted out of England because England was ramming Catholocism down their throats. I would be very disappointed in our country if they went back to the thing that drove them out of England in the first place.

Because in this country, we have this thing called Separation of church and state. You don't need prayer in schools and the Ten Commandments everywhere to pray or to follow the commandments. Religion is a personal matter not public.

Okay, I've just answered about five questions from Christians talking about how atheists are trying to 'ram their views down other people's throats'. They defensively claim that Christians never do this, and they ask why a non-believer would even want to be on this 'forum' (which Y!A isn't) if they don't believe.

The answers to all of these questions (and more) can be found in this question here.

You could first acknowledge the God that founded this nation. And it wasn't Jesus as described by Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson.
