Atheism is a non-religion therefore it has non-churches.

Even Christians don't need churches - if God is everywhere and can see and hear everything then a building shouldn't make any difference.
If you believe in God then does he not hear the prayers of people when they say them by their bedsides, marooned on desert islands, on sinking ships etc etc? No Christian would believe that just because these people haven't made it to a church that somehow their prayers are going to be dumped in a heavenly pending tray and never looked at.

The mistake of many people, Christians and others, is to confuse God and Religion.
God is all around us and requires no churches, ceremonies, donations, statues or symbols. You "worship" God by being a good person.
Religion is all the man-made stuff that has been added on later (including churches), most of which seems largely designed to create an easily manipulated population who dare not question what they are being told to do for fear the "God" will punish them - its a good scam and has made many religions very rich and powerful.
Follow God, not religion!

I'm not a christian by any means, but I think an atheist must have faith...since there is no proof that there is no god, one must have faith in that belief...an agnostic on the other hand is not sure...and does not have the belief that there is no god...many atheists I have found are very moral people...since they don't have the belief in the hereafter they believe in the "here and now" and as such try to act in a moral and/or kind manner since there is no afterlife "to make things right" ..in any event, existence is a complicated thing, and there is a lot of room for all kinds of ideas concerning it...personally, I love the mystery of it all...

The same place the true church of any Christian is: in your heart(metaphorically, not literally).

As some above stated there is no proof either way, so atheism must rely on faith. So it is a religion.

Donut shops could be the churches, the holy book could be newspapers; the reason being is the facts are supposed to be checked. The teachings could be believe in yourself first. I hope this helps, take care.

I have the atheist bible right here on my desk.

It's a 3 x 5 card and it says:

"Atheism, the only logical choice."

"Atheism is the only true religion because this card says so."

It must be a religion, my atheist handbook says it is.

I agree with edsawyer.

And Yahoo answers seems to be your Missionary work trying to convert people to Atheism from Christianity.

Atheism is not a religion. You Want it to be! I NEVER SAID IT and I don't believe others have said it. You,atheist, know you don't belong in this section because you don't believe in anything! What a Lame Excuse to be on here!

I dont know - build one. Have an atheist meeting in your home, discuss philosophy, evolution. Write your own book.

Early Christians met in one anothers homes for years rather than a central church building, the bible wasn't compiled until much later. Not our problem that you aren't organized - organize it.

I find it exquisitely ironic that believers seek to denigrate atheism by equating it with the very thing they claim to value so highly - Religion. The really shoot themselves in the foot with this one.
