No Ads do not persuade you directly to smoke but they try to lure you indirectly.I am an ex smoker,with strong determination.this also depends on maturity of mind.

ok speaking of cigarettes and all that i got a lil story you know what im 22 years old i been smoking since the age of 15 because of friends how dumb huh but anyways i just stop smoking about 4 weeks ago cold turkey and it's not because of an ad but because there is a girl at my work that is always wanting me to go smoke with her and when i do she talks about drugs and how it was so fun when we did it but im not into it no more so then my only solution to get away is to stop smokin and i did and now she is always puttin a cigarette in my face sayin you know you want it and i would just say Nah and feel good about it so sometimes negative people can help you

definatly not man, this is purely a perception of ur feeling to get what u want from the ads. If u just take an ad as an "ad", no force can compel u t smoke.

No they did not. My so called best friend got me to smoke at the age of 16, we were still in Jr High school.

In Canada, smoking ads are banned, so no.
Good old fashioned peer pressure got me started.

No, i started cause family memebes smoked, ads had nothing to do with it.
i have since quit and it's the best thing i ever did.

Am 48 - still smoke
No -not at all. Both my parents smoked and it was also more peer pressure for me at a young age. You know...to be "cool"
but not so "cool" anymore!
